Felted Cell Phone Pouch

This small cell phone pouch can either snap around a purse handle or belt loop for easy access. The pouch is knit in the round on two double pointed needles and is quick and easy (approx 1 hour). It can be embellished with beads or needle felting, if desired. Finished size: 3" x 3%", excluding loop.
Materials
MC 1 skein (100g/160y) Brown Sheep Co, Lanaloft (100% wool) in Coastal Mist Size 11 US double pointed needles (3) Magnetic clasp, button, snap, beads (optional)
Techniques
m1 - make one. With LH needle, pick up loop lying between stitch just worked and next stitch and knit into the back of it.
Body of Pouch
Pouch is knit in the round with three needles instead of four. Work across one needle, turn work, work across the other needle, tugging the yarn a bit on the first st of every round. Cast on 18 sts, leaving 12" tail. Divide sts evenly on two dpns. Rnds 1 & 3: Knit. Rnd 2: \*K1, m1, k to last st on first dpn, m1, k1, rep once. Rnd 4: Repeat Rnd 2. Continue working in round until pouch measures 61/2" from cast on. Next Rnd: \*K1, k2tog, k to end of first dpn, rep \* once. (24 sts) BO all sts from the first dpn and 1 st from the second dpn. K to last st, insert right dpn under first st of rnd (first BO st) and knit it along with rem st on needle. (12 sts)
Strap
Strap is worked in back and forth in garter st (k all rows) Row 1: Knit. Row 2: K1, k2tog, k to end. Row 3: K to last 3 sts, ssk, k1. Rows 4-7: Repeat Rows 2 & 3 twice. Row 8: Repeat Row 2. (5 sts) Knit until strap measures 7" from the BO edge, ending with a WS row. Next Row: K1, m1, k3, m1, k1. (7 sts) Knit 6 rows. Next Row: K1, k2tog, k1, ssk, k1. K2tog to begin BO, BO to last 2 sts, k2tog, BO last st. Break yarn. Bring tail through last st.
Finishing
Work in all tails. Sew bottom of pouch together. When pouch is felted attach clasp, button or snap under tab end of strap and body of pouch. Embellish with beads or needle felting, if desired. Designed by Linda Mariska, Pattern written by Linda Taylor for Brown Sheep Company
