G, H, or I crochet hook (An I was used for the above piece) Small amount of worsted weight yarn Tapestry or darning needle Scissors Button (5/8"was used in the above pic)
Gauge
The gauge is not super important.I got 3 st and 2 sc rows =1" If you would like your case smaller use a G or H hook. The above case holds an iPhone loosely. ch 16 turn Row 1. sc in 2nd ch from hook and every ch across. Turn (15 sc) Row 2. ch 1, sc in each sc across. Turn (15 sc) Row 3. ch 1, sc in each sc across. Turn (15 sc) Row 4. ch 1, sc in each sc across. Turn (15 sc) Row 5. ch 2, hdc in each sc across. Turn (15 hdc) Row 6. ch 2, hdc in each hdc across. Turn (15 hdc) Row 7. ch 2, hdc in each hdc across. Turn (15 hdc) Row 8. ch 1, sc in each sc across. Turn (15 sc) Row 9. ch 1, sc in each sc across. Turn (15 sc) Row 10. ch 1, sc in each sc across. Turn (15 sc) Row 11. ch 1, sc in each sc across. ch 7. Turn (15 sc, 6 ch) Row 12. dc in 4th ch from hook (first 3 ch st. count as 1 dc) dc in in next 3 ch st. dc in each sc across. Skipping the very last sl st worked, sc the edges together. (15 sc) Fasten off leaving a long enough tail to stitch up bottom. Stitch up bottom. Fasten off and weave in ends. Flip project so seams are in the inside. Sew button on front to line up with button loop. The idea behind this pattern is to practice your beginning crochet techniques while making a project.
