Pattern by Astrid Aesoey 2012 You need 50 grams of purple fingering weight yarn, and leftover yarn in green and apricot. Needles US size 1.5, 2.5 mm. 2 buttons. Gauge: about 8 stitches pr. inch. With purple yarn, cast on 128 stitches. Work in stockinette stitch for 6 rounds. Purl 1 round (folding edge, measure piece from here). Continue to work in stockinette stitch. Work 6 rounds of purple, then repeat two rounds of each color, green, apricot and purple. Place a stitch marker in each side (64 stitches for front, and 64 stitches for back). On every eight round, decrease 4 stitches: knit 1 stitch, knit two stitches together, knit till there are 2 stitches left before the stitch marker, slip 2 stitches individually as if to knit, and knit them together through the back loop, knit 1 stitch, knit 2 stitches together, knit till there are 2 stitches left before the stitch marker, slip 2 stitches individually as if to knit, and knit them together through the back loop. Continue this decrease till there are 96 stitches left on the needles. When work measures 6 % inches, cut green and apricot yarn, and continue in purple. Decrease 12 stitches evenly (84 stitches left on needles). Knit 2 rounds. On the next round, bind off 4 stitches in each side for armholes, and continue to work back and front separately. Front: continue in stockinette stitch. Bind off 1 stitch at each side every other row 2 times (34 stitches on the needles). When work measures 8 % inches, start neck shaping: bind off 14 middle stitches. Continue to work each side separately. Bind off 1 more stitch on neck side every other row 2 times. Work till total length, 9 % inches. Back: Continue in stockinette stitch. Divide back into two pieces, for back opening, and continue to work each side separately. Bind off 1 more stitch on armhole side every other row 2 times. Continue till total length, 9 % inches. Leave 8 stitches on shoulder side on a stitch holder for shoulder seams, and bind off the rest of the stitches. Sleeves: With purple yarn, cast on 40 stitches. Work 6 rows of stockinette stitch. Purl 1 row (folding edge). Continue in stockinette stitch. Work 6 rows. On the next row, increase 8 stitches evenly. Work 3 rows. On the next row, bind off first and last two stitches. Continue to bind off 2 more stitches in each side on every other row till there are 22 stitches left on the needles. Bind off all stitches. Using a sewing needle and matching yarn, sew shoulder seams. Set in sleeves. Crochet around the neck line and back opening. Sew two buttons along left back opening, and crochet 2 buttonholes along right back opening. Fold in the bottom edge and fasten on wrong side. Fold in the sleeve edges and fasten on wrong side.
