Materials Needed 1 (125 yard) ball Red Heart Fashion crochet thread size 3 Size G/6/4.00mm crochet hook Elastic cord (small amount) Optional Flower Trim Small amounts of 2 colors size 3 thread Size C/2/2/75mm crochet hook Gauge 3" across at end of Rnd 9 Sizes 3 months, (6 months, 12 months)

Sc inc - work 2 sc in one stitch PM - place stitch marker (keep moving up as you progress with rounds) Do not join rounds unless otherwise instructed.

Lace Section
Rnd 1: Ch 4, dc in same stitch (for V-stitch), skip 2 stitches, \*(dc, ch 1, dc) in next stitch (V-stitch made), skip 2 stitches; rep from \* around, join to beginning of rnd with a sl st. Rnd 2 & 3: S1 st to middle of V-stitch; ch 4, dc in same space, skip 2 stitches, \*(dc, ch 1, dc) in center of next V-stitch, skip 2 stitches; rep from \* around, join to beginning of rnd with a sl st.
Last Section
Rnd 1: Sc in each stitch and each ch space around; PM in last st to mark end of round. Rnd 2: Sc in each stitch around. Cut elastic cord 17 inches for size 3 months; 18 inches for size 6 months; 19 inches for size 12 months. (Elastic is long enough to allow you to weave in the ends) Rnd 3: Sc over elastic cord in each stitch around. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Optional Flower Trim
Note: 2 colors are needed. Rnd 1: With color A, ch 2; 6 sc in 2"d ch from hook, PM to mark end of round. (6sc) Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. Cut color A. (12sc) Rnd 3: Join color B with a sc; work 3 sc in each st around. (36sc) Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in same st, work 2 dc in each remaining st around. (72dc) Rnd 5: \*Sc in next dc, ch 3; rep from \* around, join with a sl st to first sc. Fasten off. Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of a cotton lace-work baby cloche.
