Cable Hat
By Rosemary Peek Size 10 Circular Needle Size 10 Double Pointed Needles (to finish off the crown) Yarn used for this project: Blue Sky Alpacas Dyed Cotton or any worsted to heavy worsted yarn. Gauge: 5-6 stitches per inch in stockinet stitch Cast on 65 Stitches Join and place marker. (K4, P1) Repeat to marker. Repeat twice more (K4, P1, Cb1F4, P1) Repeat to marker ending wi (K4, P1) Repeat to marker (CblF4, P1, K4, P1) Repeat to marker ending wi (K4, P1) Repeat to marker -Repeat 1-4 five times Repeat 4 four more times (K2tog, K2, P1) Repeat to marker (K3, P1) Repeat to marker (K2tog, K1, P1) Repeat to marker 0 -(K2, P1) Repeat to marker (K2tog, P1) Repeat to marker (K1, P1) Repeat to marker K2tog all around K all around K2tog all around to last stitch, K1 16— K around Cut yarn out several inches. Weave through remaining loops and pull tight.
Pattern is for an average size adult head. It is close fitting and short. For a longer hat, add rows of ribbing and/or additional cable repeats. For a larger hat, add sets of 10 to the cast on number.
