Seed Stitch Neck Tie by Christopher Lizama

Materials: 100 yards (1.5 ounces) of worsted weight yarn. Brown Sheep Nature Spun Worsted or Brown Sheep Lanaloft Worsted both work quite well. #6 knitting needles, straight. Gauge: 5 stitches per horizontal inch on US #6 needles in seed stitch Lined Seed Stitch: P2, (K, P) repeat parenthetical

Instructions:

Cast on 11 stitches and work lined seed stitch for 21 inches. P2, ssk, P, K, P, k2tog, K, P Work pattern for 7 inches. P2, ssk, P, k2tog, K, P Work Pattern for %2 inch P, ssk, P ,k2tog, P Work 1x1 ribbing for 21 inches Bind off. Adding the back strap: Pick up four purl bumps in a vertical row, one stitch from the edge. Knit seed stitch for 1.5 inches and sew on to the opposite column one stitch from the other edge. Abbreviations:

ssk: pass 2 stitches over to your right needle and knit them together by moving your left needle through the front of them k2tog: knit two together WP: work pattern, in this case lined seed-stitch
