Tips and Techniques for Newcomers to Circular Knitting:
Casting On: This garment is knit from the top-down, starting at the neck. To ensure that the neck is elastic, I recommend that you cast your stitches loosely on a straight or circular needle two sizes up (size 10),then slip stitches purl-wise onto your smaller (size 8) circular needle. Joining Yarn: The simplest way to join yarn is to align the stitches on your needle, place a marker on the right needle, and start knitting from the left. Do not turn work! When you come to the marker (1 round),slip the marker from the left needle to the right, and continue knitting. Caution: This is a good travel project. But each time you stop & start up again, make sure that the stockinette side of the fabric (the “right side") is facing you before you start knitting!

Finishing:
Weave in loose ends. Use crochet hook to bring ribbon ends on rufle (from yarn B) to right side of work. If you worked the optional eyelet round, make twisted cord (see below) and thread through eyelets. Twisted Cord: Cut several five-yard lengths of yarn A. Fold lengths in half. Ask a friend to hold one end of the strands. Hold the other end, and twist strands in one direction. When you have twisted the strands as tightly as possible, take the end your friend is holding, bring the twoends together, and release the middle Strands will twist into a cord. Smooth out the cord, and knot both ends to secure the twist. Ifyou wish to shorten the cord, make another knot at desired length, and cut off excess.
