
Kit's Knit Hat
Materials \~ US 4 (3.5mm) double point needles \~ stitch marker (small bit of yarn or a store bought one) \~ 4ply yarn in white, I used Martha Stewart's Lion Brand yarn (wool blend) color Buttermilk \~ /2” thick Ribbon (a piece 24 /2 long or longer) \~thread (color matching the ribbon) \~darning needle \~ Sewing needle Need to Know How to use double point needles and knit in the round. ST- stitch K- Knit K1 (FB)- Knit 1 (front back) Yo- yarn over K2TOG- Knit 2 together DPN - double point needles Cast on 6 ST over 3 DPNs (2 on each needle) Join to work in the round and place marker. Round 1: K Round 2 - 3: \* K1 (FB)\* repeat (24St by the 3rd round) Round 4 and all other even rounds: K Round 5: \* K2, yo, K2TOG\* repeat Round 7: \*K1 (FB), yo, K2TOG\* repeat Round 9: \* K1 (FB), yo, K2TOG\* repeat to last 2 Stitches, K1 (FB), K1 (43St) Round 11: \*K1, Yo, K2TOG,\* repeat to last St, K1 Round 13: \*K2TOG, K1, yo\* repeat to last St, K1 Round15: \*K2TOG, yo\* repeat to last St, K1 Round 17: \*yo, K2TOG \* repeat to last St, yo, K1 Round 19: \*K2TOG, yo\* repeat Round 21: \*yo, K2TOG\* repeat to last St, yo, K1 Round 23: \*K2TOG, yo\* repeat Round 25: \*yo, K2TOG\* repeat to last St, yo, K1 Round 27: \*K1 (FB), yo, K2TOG \* repeat to last St, K1 (FB) Round 29: \*K1, yo, K2TOG\* repeat to last 2 St, K2TOG, yo Round 30: K Cast off all stitches, weave in loose ends. Cut a piece of %2 inch thick ribbon to 24 1/2' long, or a little longer if you want a larger bow. Fold over the cut ends /\*" then /\*" again so that the rough edges are no longer showing. Sew the ends. Take your long ribbon and pin it to the hat leaving enough ribbon loose on each end to tie into a bow later. Sew the ribbon to the hat. Tie the remaining ribbon into a bow.
