
Heptagonal potholder
Yarn: Lang Yarn Sol Dégradé Needle: 3 (US 2%) Gauge: 11 st. = 4 cm / 14 double rows = 5 cm The stitches at the edge of the work: First stitch - knit in back loop. Last stitch - yarn on front side of work, move the stitch from left to right needle. Cast on 31 stitches with colour 1 (C1) 1. (C1) Knit the whole row. 2. Colour 2 (C2) Knit 29 st, turn and knit back to the edge. 3. (C1) Knit 27 st, turn and knit back to the edge. 4. (C2) Knit 25 st, turn and knit back to the edge. 5. Go on like this, until there are only 3 st in the row - with alternating colours. 6. Knit 4 st, wrap & turn (W&T) and knit back to the edge. 7. Knit 4 st, pick up the 'wrapping' and knit it together with the stitch that it was wrapped around, knit 1 st, W&T, knit back to the edge. 8. Knit 6 st, pick up the 'wrapping' and knit it together with the stitch that it was wrapped around, knit 1 st, W&T, knit back to the edge. 9. Go on like this, until you've knit the whole row. Repeat 2-9 six times. Sew together to get a heptagon. Crochet a strap.
