You will need three different colours of cotton yarn. Mine were made out of sport weight yarn, for a set of two I used up 37 m of colour 1 and 2 and 60 m of colour 3, hook size 3,5mm. Instructions: Chain 31 in colour 1, sc in 3rd chain from hook and in each of the following chains (29 sc plus 2 chains which count as the 30th sc).Turn, chain 2 (counts as sc), sc until end oftherow(30sc). Join colour 2 and work 2 more rows in sc. Then join colour 3 and work 2 rows in sc. Repeat these 6 rows 4 times more, then work 2 rows in colour 1 and 2 rows in colour 2 again. You should have a square now. In colour 3 crochet sc around the whole square, 30 sc for each side plus an extra sc in each corner. Join with a slip stitch. Then work picot edging around: Chain 3, sc in 3rd chain from hook, skip 1 sc from round below, sc in next stitch. Continue working picots all around, join with a slip stitch. Then chain as many as you need for a loop (mine are 18 chains) and join with a slip stitch. Cut yarn. Weave in ends. Make a second one if you like. Use.
