HIPSTER Slouch Hat by Ninon
Real slouchy hat, with lots of "slouch"! This hat has all the characteristics of the definite slouch hat; large ribbed band, and lots of bounce in the back.
Material:
\* One skein of PlymouthYarn Baby Alpaca Grande in the color of your choice, orany other bulky yarn with similar gauge.
Size:
Ladies medium/large Men small.
Gauge:
12 st = 4"
Needle:
16" circular needle, size 11 US
HIPSTER Slouch Hat
Directions:
CO 64 sts, or any number of stitches that is a multiple of 8, if you want a larger or smaller hat.
Border:
Knit in k2p2 rib until your border measures about 3.5". In the last row of your border, increase by 3 stitches evenly on the row, by knitting 1 st front and back three times. You now have 67 sts and are ready to begin the pattern.
Pattern:
Round 1: Knit all stitches. Finished Measurements Round 3: \*K3, P2, k1, p2\*; repeat from \* to \* until last 3 sts; k3 nd 4: K3, \*p1, k1, p1, k1, p1, k3\*; repeat from \* to \* until end of roun Round 5: K3, p2, k1, p2\*, repeat from \* to \* until last 3 sts; k3. (Same as round 3) Round 6: K3, \*p1, k1, p1, k1, p1, k3\*; repeat from \* to \* until end of round. (Same asround 4) Round 7: Knit all stitches. Round 8: Knit all stitches. Round 9 : \*P1, k1, p2, k3, p1\*; repeat from \* to \* until the last3sts; p1, k1, p1. Rounds 1o: K1, p1, k1, \*p1, k3, p1, k1, p1, k1\*; repeat from \* to \* until end of round. Round 11: \*P1, k1, p2, k3, p1\*; repeat from \* to \* until the last 3 sts; p1, k1, p1. (Same as row 9) Round 12: K1, p1, k1, \*p1, k3, p1, k1, p1, ki\*; repeat from \* to \* until end of round. Repeat these 12 rows until your hat measures about 1o.5" from hem Decreasing rounds : Round 1: \*K2tog, k2, k2tog, k2\*; repeat until the end of round. Round 2: K2, k3tog, \*k3, k3tog\*; repeat from \* to \* until last st, k1. Round 3: K2tog until the end of round. Break yarn and pull thread through the remaining 16 stitches. Pull tightly, and securely. Weaveends.
