HAT

Cast on 12 sts with larger needle. Row 1 (wsf): K1, p10, k1. Row 2 (rsf): K1, \* work 4 sts of Row 2, set marker; Repeat from \* 3 more times, work 4 sts of Row, k1. Row 3 (wsf): K1, p to next marker, slip marker; Repeat from \* 3 more times, P to last st, k1. Row 4 (and foll even rows): K1, \* work in charted pattern to next marker; Repeat from \* 3 more times, Work in charted pattern, k1. Row 5 (and foll odd rows): K1, \* p to next marker, slip marker; Repeat from \* 3 more times, P to last st, k1. In rows 19 and 35 (wsf) increase marked sts as foll (make 3): k1, p1, k1, p1 in gray marked st Work 69 rows in patterns as established (1x rows 2- 49, then 1x rows 34-49 and finally 1x rows 34-37) (162 sts) Cont with smaller needle and remove all markers in firstrow: In all odd rows (rsf): K1, \* p1, k1tbl; repeat from \* to last st, k1. In all even rows (wsf): K1, \* p1tbl, k1; repeat from \* to last st, k1. Work 10 rows in patt as established. Cast off all sts very loosely. Cut yarn, leaving a 60 cm long tail and sew seam. Weave in loose ends and block carefully.

SCARF

Cast on 51 sts and purl 1 row. Work 56 rows in charted pattern, then repeat rows 51 - 56 continuously. Work 200 rows in this way, ending with row 55 (wsf). (1x rows 1-56, then 8x rows 41-56 and finally 1x rows 41-55). Cut yarn, leaving a 1,00 m long tail. Put first piece aside. Work 2nd piece in the same way. Join both pieces in Kitchener Stitch for Stockinette. Weave in loose ends and block scarf carefully.
