Materials needed for this pattern: Red Heart Super Saver in Buff, Black and Lavender Size H Crochet Hook Poly-fil Stuffing 2 10 or 12 mm black plastic safety eyes with fasteners Yarn needle

Head
Round 1: Starting with the buff yarn and a magic ring, ch 1, 6 sc in ring. Pull tail to tighten ring. Round 2: 2 sc in each st around. (12 sc) Round 3: \* 1 sc in the first st, 2 sc in the next st \*. Repeat around. (18 sc) Round 4 & 5: 1 sc in each st around. (18 sc) Round 6: Switch to the lavender yarn. \* 1 sc in each of the 1 2 sts, 2 in the next st \*. Repeat around. (24 sc) Round 7 & 8: 1 sc in each st around. (24 sc) n the first four sts, sc dec over the next 2 sts. \* Repeat 3 more times. (20 s Round 1o: \* SC in the first 3 sts, sc dec over the next 2 sts. \* Repeat 3 more times. (16 sc) Round 1: \* SC in the first 2 sts, sc dec over the next 2 sts. \* Repeat 3 more times. (12 sc) Attach the eyes, a stitch on the smile. Stuff the head before continuing. This is my smile but you can feel free to create your own.
Round 12 & 13: SC in each st around. (12 sc) Round 14: \* SC in the first st, sc dec over the next 2 sts. \* Repeat 3 more times. (8 sc) Round 15 & 16: SC Dec 4 times. Fasten off and weave in ends. Make 2. This is worked in rows and not rounds. Start your chain with a somewhat long tail Row 1: Ch 4, sc in 2"d ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. Row 2 - 4: SC across. Ch 1 turn. Row 5: SC DEC over first 2 sts and last 2 sts. Ch 1, turn. Row 6: SC across. Ch 1, turn. Row 7: SC DEC. 3, across bottom, and back up the other side. Fasten off and weave in end Stitch these on to the top of the donkeys head. You can use the picture at the top of the pattern for placement ideas.
Body
Round 1: Using the lavender yarn and starting with a magic ring, ch 1, 6 sc in ring. Pull tail to tighten the ring. Round 2: 2 sc in each st around. (12 sc) Round 3: \* 1 sc in the 1"t st, 2 in the next st \*. Repeat around. (18 sc) Round 4: \* 1 sc in each of the first two sts, 2 sc in the next st \*. Repeat around. (24 sc) Round 5: \* 1 sc in each of the first 3 sts, 2 sc in the next st \*. Repeat around. (30 sc) Round 6 - 15: SC in each st around. (30 sc) Round 16: \* SC DEC over the next 2 sts \*. Repeat around. At this point, stuff the body. Round 17: \* SC in the first 3 sts, sc dec over the next 2 sts\*. Repeat 2 more times. (12 sc) Round 18: \* SC in the first sts, sc dec over the next 2 sts \*. Repeat 2 more times. (8 sc) Round 19: SC DEC around. Fasten off and weave in ends. Stitch the head to the body.
Mane
Ch 1o. In the second st from the hook \* sc, hdc, dc, trc,dc,gdc sc in the same st. Sl St to the next st. \* Repeat for the length of the ch. Fasten off. Leave a tail long enough to stitch onto the head. ing at the top of the head between the ears, continuing down to the neck Tail Ch 13, sl st in 2"d ch from hook and in each st to the end of the ch. Fasten off Leave a tail long enough to stitch the donkey's tail on. Tie about 4 2-inch pieces of black yarn to the end of the tail that you won't be attaching to the body.
Stitch the tail to the end of the donkey. Back legs, make 2. Round 1: With the black yarn and starting with a magic ring, ch 1, 6 sc in ring. Pull tail to tighten thering. 3: SC in each st around. Fasten off the black yarn. Join the lavender yarn Stitch these underneath the body towards the back.
Front legs, make 2. Round 1: With the black yarn and starting with a magic ring, ch 1, 6 sc in ring. Pulltail to tighten the ring. Round 2 & 3: SC in each st around. Fasten off the black yarn. Join the lavender yarn. Round 4 - 1o: SC around. Fasten off and leave a long tail to stitch the leg onto the body. Stitch these underneath the body towards the front.
