Vine Lace Tea Cozy

Materials: $100\mathrm{gm}$ skein Patons Classic Wool (merino) US size 11 circular needles Gauge: 3 sts to one inch and 3 rows to an inch with YARN DOUBLED. Pattern: Work yarn double throughout Cast on 60 stitches and knit the first row Start pattern for Vine Lace on row 2 this willbe WS. Note: keep first and last stitches as selvage by knitting first stitch and slipping the last stitch purlwise Vine Lace Stitch Pattern Rows 1 and 3: Purl Row 2: k 3, \*yo, k 2, ssk, k2 tog, k2, yo, k1\*, k1 Row 4: k 2, \*yo, k 2, ssk, k2 tog, k2, yo, k1\*, k2 Work for about 8 inches finishing on last row of pattern Then decrease for top: Next row : k1 $^{*}\!\mathrm{k}\,2$ , k 2 tog\* repeat across, sl 1 p Next row: $\mathrm{k}1\;^{*}\!{\mathfrak{p}}\;2,{\mathfrak{p}}\;2\;{\mathrm{tog}}^{*}$ repeat across, sl $1\,\mathrm{p}$ Repeat these two rows until you have about 24 stitches on the needles. Next row: $\mathrm{k}1\ast\mathrm{k}2$ tog\* repeat across, sl $1\mathrm{~p~}$ Next row: $\mathbf{k}1*\mathbf{p}2\mathbf{\tog}^{*}$ repeat across, sl 1 p You should have about 6-8 stitches left. Leaving stitches on needles, cut the yarn leaving a length of about 6 inches. Thread through the sts pulling together to form the top of the cozy. Leaving a 5 inch opening, sew up the side seam from top down and join from the bottom up. Ialso add a row of SC (UK DC) on the bottom of the cozy and around the edge opening.
