Using the Rosetti; Cast on 40 stitches. Work in garter stitch for approximately 66 rows or until you have a square. Cast off. Pick the corner you think looks best, this will be the right angle of the triangle. Then use your locking stitch marker to mark the front of the work on the opposite corner. This is going to be the mid point of the hypotenuse of the right angled triangle, all your decreases are going to be worked along that line. Use the Camino Alpaca held double and start at the corner nearest your marker. Pick up and knit 40 stitches. Next row, knit. Next row (a), knit1, knit 2 together through the back loops, knit to the end of the row. Next row (b), knit. Repeat rows a and b unit there are 2 stitches. Cast off leaving at least 15cm of tail. Using the Alpaca, starting from the free unmarked corner (not your best one!), pick up and knit 4O stitches. You should end up right next to your marker. Next row, knit. Next row (c), knit to last 3 stitches, knit 2 together through the back loops, knit 1. Next row (d), knit. Repeat rows c and d. When you run out of Alpaca carry on using the last of the Rosettti to give a subtle texture to the scarf. Work until there are 2 stitches. Cast off leaving another 15 cm tail. Make 3 tassels. Wind your yarn around the paperback 25-30 times. Loop your securing yarn around as shown and tie a reef knot on top of the book spine. Loop around again and make a second reef knot. You can leave the ends as long as the width of the book and tie them in at the next stage. Slide the tied loops of yarn off the book and using a similar technique wrap and tie a securing yarn about 2.5 cm from the top of the tassel. Wrap the yarn around the tassel a few extra times until you are happy with the look then tie again. Using a tapestry needle sew the ends into the top part of the tassel.

Snip the loops of yarn at the bottom of the tassel. Give it a shake and trim off any uneven threads. Sew one tassel on to each corner of the scarf using the long tails you left. Weave in any ends carefully as you can wear the scarf in lots of different ways.
