Crochet Pattern for a Charming Miffy Banner with Detailed Instructions and Assembly Guide

Miffy banner

by Pure Stitches

Pattern illustration

This pattern gives you a fine banner with Miffy motive. Included are the Miffy-head and the small bow/butterfly, which can make Miffy girly or boyish (see picture on the last page). At last there will be a proposal for how they can be assembled. Please show your final version of the banner on Instagram with hashtags like #miffyranke, #miffybanner and #purestitches. Then your excellent work can inspire others and me.

Before start

The head is crocheted in rounds by starting with a magic ring. The ears are crocheted forth and back around the chain line. Do you need a bigger Miffy, just add some more rounds and rows to both head and ears. Along the way there will be suggestions and guidelines for fx how to manage certain stitches. Also, there will be pictures and illustrations to help you through the pattern.

Cast off and leave a long thread for assembly. Fasten the first thread from 1. row. Use the long, hanging thread to create a bow/butterfly. Turn the thread around the middle of the piece a few times and make a knot. Form the bow/butterfly.

Assembly

Sew ears on the head - one of them should be placed on the cast off on the head. That way the transition will be less clear. There should be 2 stitches between the ears (see the following picture).

Use black yarn to make french knots as eyes and embroider an x-mouth. Assemble bow/butterfly where you find it fiting (OPTIONAL). Make the number of Miffy's you'll need and crochet them together with chain stitches, to make a banner. The banner on the front page is started with a number of chains. Afterwards a Miffy is being added by sc in each ear (with chains between the ears - see the following picture). Crochet an adequate number of chains and add another Miffy in the same way as before.
