Supplies needed:
●Worsted weight yarn- scraps will be plenty (I used Hobby Lobby's I Love this Wool) · Size 4 needles Size 8 dpns or small circs, and a stitch marker Button for earwarmer closure
Earwarmer instructions:
Use size 4 needles and worsted weight yarn Cast on 5 stitches, and knit in garter stitch (knit every row) for 6 rows Complete the next 4 row pattern four times total: 1. K2, m1, k to last 2, m1, k2 2. K2, p to last 2, k2 3. K all stitches 4. K2, p to last 2, k2 You should now have 13 stitches Repeat the next two rows until the earwarmer measures about 10 inches unstretched: 1. K all stitches 2. K2, p to last 2, k2 If you wish to try the earwamer on the doll at this point, hold the button tab at the bottom center, and pull the earwarmer over the head. With slight stretching, it should reach just over the ear on the other side Repeat the following 4 row pattern 3 times for decreasing: 1. K2, ssk, k to last 4, k2tog, k2 2. K2, p to last 2, k2 3. K all stitches 4. K2, p to last 2, k2 End the decreases with the following row: K2, slip 1, k2tog, pass slipped stitch over, k2. You should be back at five stitches Knit 2 rows K2, yo, k2tog, K2 for buttonhole row K 2 rows and bind off in knit. Weave in the ends, and sew the button on the plain garter tab. Feel free to embellish with a flower orbow!
Cowl:
Use size 8 needles and worsted weight yarn Cast on 80 stitches. If you are a tight knitter, you may wish to cast on more to ensure cowl fits across neck twice. Join to knit in the round, being careful not to twist Work in seed stitch as follows for about 1.5"', or desired length: 1. K1, P1 across row 2. P1, K1 across row When the desired length has been reached, BO in pattern, and weave in ends.
