RATTLESNAKE
The Rattlesnake is based on my previous pattern “Sir His" (a bookmark). I simply added a body and small bells in the bottom and head, which makes a cosy sound when shaking the little snake. The gauge is not so important; just use a hook suitable for the yarn of your choice. However, I would recommend a washable yarn that is not too fuzzy or hairy since babies tends to put everything in the mouth. I used hook 3 and Drops Safran (50 g = 160 m) colour 14 and 31. This resulted in a rattle that is approximately 14 cm tall. However your rattle might be a difference size depending on your size of yarn and crochet hook. I have used safety eyes to make sure that they do not end up somewhere they do not belong. For nostrils I simply made two French Knots. You will also need fibrefill and small bells.
