Snake scarf By, M.M.Bise

Level 1: beginner
Cindwood 30 peg, 12" gauge Baby hat loom was used
I skein of any self striping yarn, #4 worsted weight. The above scarves were made with Hobby Lobby, I love this yarn- self patterning yarn(252 yards), and red heart-team spirit yarn(232 yards) . Use 1 strand throughout. You will also need your knitting tool, yarn needle, and either cat eyes, animal eyes or buttons for eyes. The eyes can be bought at Joann fabrics and Pat Catan's.
CO: drawstring Cast on
BO: drawstring bind off ( like you're closing a hat)
Stitches used: EW- the E wrap
Lets begin: CO using the drawstring CO- to do this, take the tail of the yarn and wrap the anchor pin 1 time. Take the working yarn behind peg 30, then begin weaving your yarn in front of peg 1, behind peg 2, in front of peg 3 etc. continue around the loom. When you get back to peg 1, weave the yarn behind peg 1 in front of peg 2 ( the opposite of what you did the first time around, DO NOT WEAVE TIGHT. After this round of alternately weaving in front and behind the pegs, lay the yarn loosely across the pegs, lift the bottom over the top, using a flat knit to secure the Co.
The Body of the scarf.
Round 1 to the end or the scarf, Ewrap all the pegs. after a few rounds, remove the tail from the anchor pin. Around 40 rounds. Pull on the starting strand to close the end of the scarf. Tie off and leave the extra tail on the inside. Place your eyes where you like them and attach them. Now continue wrapping until the end of the skein. Leave enough yarn to bind off. BO: use the gathered BO as if you are closing a hat. Thread your working yarn onto a yarn needle. Going up through the bottom of the sts on the pegs and remove them from the loom. Pull tight to close. Go through a couple of sts, then tie off. Carefully push the needle to the inside and pull snug pulling the needle between sts on the side of the scarf. Trim the yarn tail on the outside of your scarf the remaining tail will be trapped on the inside and unseen.
