DRAGON STOLE
Proofread and test knit by Mandy All errors MMario's fault

The original took about 1200 yards of Alpaca Cloud from Knitpicks - using a 5mm needle. I would suggest that for most people a US 5 (3.75) mm or a $4\mathrm{mm}$ would be more appropriate. It is strongly suggested that you read ALL the notes prior to commmencing. Cast on: 117 stitches. Knit 3 rows. Next three rows: - purl 4, knit 109, purl 4.
Next 13 rows:
A) purl 4; [yo,k2tog,k2] x27; yo, k2tog, p3 B) purl 4; [y0, p2tog, p2] x28, p1 repeat two rows 6 times, then repeat row A once more Please note that due to various reasons the last section ended about to start a WS row. Why? Because each pattern row of the filet mesh takes THREE rows of knitting to achieve. That said - for the entire patterned filet section: Each RIGHT side row of knitting will start with: p4, (YO, k2t0g, k2)x3 and end with: k2, (yo, k2tog, k2) x2, Yo, k2tog, p3 Each WRONG side row of knitting will start with p4, (YO, p2tog, p2) x3 End with p2, (yo, p2tog, p2)x3, p1 The first "row" of filet actually isn't filet - because it is the solid border around the filet. 20) (Ignore what I said above for this row - because this row is a "setup" row. We have to adjust stitches - believe me - I counted, and recounted, and recounted and this has to be done. No way around it) p4, (yo, p2tog, p2) x2, Yo, p2tog, pf&b\*, p87, pf&b\*, (yo, p2tog, p2)x3, p1 21) edge stitches, k88, edge stitches 22) edge stitches, p88, edge stitches \* or knit 1, pl in same stitch. we just need an extra stitch on each edge of the filet section to make the number of stitches for the filet and the number of stitches for the main border adjust. NOTE:Those "wrong side' edge stitches? - When you are starting a filet row - the last p stitch of the edge stitch becomes part of the first p2tog of the filet. This happens every third occurrence. I'm not mentioning the edge stitches again. 23) ON x44 $(O N\,{=}\,y o,\,k2t o g)$ 24) (p1, slip yo purlwise (that is, the yo from the row below), yo\*) x44 \* if you are doing this right, the two yarnovers lie parallel to each other over the needle and look like one doubled strand. 25) (knit two YO-strands as if one stitch, k1) x44\*\* You should have a row of 44 open meshes Test knitter Note:(I couldn't get the pattern to line up for the edgings, not for anything, so after ripping back many times I gave up & swapped the all p2tog,YOs for YO, P2togs and it seems to workfine) 26) (OP) x 17, p26, (OP) x14 (OP = yo, p2tog) 27) (YO, slip yo purlwise\*, k1) x14;
