Used Materials: Hook 5,5 mm (1) and local yarn Saskia (WIBRA), a 8 ply DK yarn. For the bears I used 2 strands of chenille and 3 strands of boucle. The cat is made from 3 strands of soft'angora' acrylic. Left over ribbon. You could also crochet, knit ore sew a bowtie. When you make a bag instead of a blanket you could also use wobbly eyes or buttons.

When you don't want to make a Funny Face you can replace round 1 and 2 by 12 tr(dc) in a loop. end every round with a slip stitch Rnd. 1. Red or noose color. Crochet in loop: 6 dc(sc), close with a sl.st. Cut of thread leaving a tail (app. 12 inches to embroider a puffy-noose). Rnd.2. Face color. Chain 1, 2 dc(sc) in each stitch of rnd. 1. Result: 12 stitches. Rnd. 3. Chain 3 (=first tr(dc), tr (dc) in same stitch. 2 tr(dc) in every next stitch. Result: 24 stitches.

If you need a certain size, decide in this last round what you need. A round of dc(sc), htr(hdc) or tr(dc)? I needed a round of htr(hdc) to make a 6 inch square.

The Funny Face
Start with the mouth (black) Begin and end with a long tail, you need these tails to make the eyes. Begin between 2 tr(dc) of round 3. See the chart and the photo's. This should be exactly half way the right side of the square. Work 12 stitches to the left and end exactly half way the left side of the square, don't forget to leave a tail.

You make these stitches by holding the thread UNDER the square and pulling out the yarn at the right side with your hook. You should get chain stitches that lay on the surface of the square.

Copyright $\circledcirc$ Carola Wijma 2010 EYES. See photo's and chart. Skip two tr(dc) between the corners of the mouth and the eyes. Just make 5 stitches over two tr(dc), all in the same place.
