Crochet Patterns for SuperMouse and Ratman: Detailed Instructions and Materials List

SuperMouse and Ratman crochet pattern

Materials used:

Aran weight yarn in Grey, pink, red, blue yellow, brown, black 2.5mm crochet hook 9mm black safety eyes Yellow and black felt for the bat sign and glue or thread to fasten. With these materials the rodents should measures approx 15cm

Stitches used in American terminology:

MR - magic ring sc - single crochet HDC - half double crochet DC-double crochet FLO - front loops only BLO - back loops only Inc - increase by creating 2 stitches into the same stitch INVDEC - decrease by picking up front loops of next 2 stitches only.

Head: Starting in pink:

Then tuck the ends into the paw section. 5 to 8: sc around for 4 rounds (6) Fasten off. Do not stuff the arm. Whip stitch closed and sew to side of body.

Feet:

1: SC 6 into MR (6) 2: \*inc, sc2\* repeat (8) 3: sc around (8) 4: sc around (8) Fasten off. Do not stuff the feet. Whip stitch closed and sew to the bottom of the body. Tail In pink

Chain 19, slip in the first 3 chains sc into 3 chains, HDC into 6 chains, DC into 6 chains. Fasten off. Loosely tie the 2 ends together to knot. Sew in a central position to the back of the mouse.

1: sc 6 into MR (6) 2: sc around (6) 3: sc around (6) change to grey in the last stitch. 4: sc around (6) cut pink yarn and knot the grey and brown end to prevent stitches from coming loose. Then tuck into the paw section. 5 to 8: sc 4 rounds (6) Fasten off. Do not stuff the arm. Whip stitch closed and sew to side of body.

Feet: In black make 2

1: SC 6 into MR (6) 2: \*inc, sc2\* repeat (8) 3: sc around (8) 4: sc around (8) Fasten off. Whip stitch closed and sew to the bottom of the body.

Tail In pink

Chain 19, slip in the first 3 chains sc into 3 chains, HDC into 6 chains, DC into 6 chains. Fasten off. Loosely tie the 2 ends together to knot. Sew in a central position to the back of the mouse.

Batman sign.

Using yellow and black felt, cut an oval out of the yellow felt and a simple bat sign out of black felt, glue them together before gluing to the front of the rat. Cut 3 pieces of yellow felt and glue to the belt as pockets.

1: chain 15, HDC 14 2: HDC 14 3: INVDEC, SC 10, INVDEC (12) 4: HDC 12 5: INVDEC, SC 8, INVDEC (10) 6: HDC 10 7: HDC 10 8: INVDEC, sC 6, INVDEC (8) 9: HDc 8 do not turn work but continue around and sc around the whole edge to neaten (exact number of stitches is not important) When you get to the bottom of the cape (the widest edge) work the following pattern along this row: Chain 3, slip stitch back into same stitch \*sc 2, chain 4, slip back into the same stitch\* repeat between the stars and when one stitch remains, chain 3, and slip back into the same stitch, then continue to work sc around the edge. Chain 11. Fasten off and cut a long tail Wrap the chain around the neck of the mouse and use the yarn tail to secure it in place. Weave in ends and your crime fighting rodents should now be ready!
