
HELLO CROCHETER!
Fill of joy your Christmas tree with these little amigurumi animals that protect themselves from the cold winter. You can choose from a dog, cat, frog, crab, rabbit, owl and a mouse. MATERIALS:
1- Light worsted weight yarn in white. green. dark green, lilac. grey. pink, brown, dark brown, red and orange 2- Size E (3.5 mm) crochet hook 3- Embroidery floss in black. brown and lilac 4- Orange craft felt and sewing thread that matches 5- Sharp embroidery needle 6- Iapestry needle 7- Fiberfill or stuffing of your choice 8- Stitch marker 9- Z.5 mm plastic eyes with safety backings

SAFETY:
Even though the plastic eyes used in amigurumi are often called ‘safety eyes', they're not approved for use by children under 3. So, if you are making a toy for a little one this age, cut out felt eyes and sew them to the crochet fabric, or embroider the eyes with yarn.
BODY
Using E hook and desired body color yarn, R1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook. R2: Sc 2 in each sc around. (12 sts) R3: \*Sc 1, 2 sc in next sc\*, rep 6 times. (18 sts) R4: \*Sc 2, 2 sc in next sc\*, rep 6 times. (24 sts) R5: \*Sc 3, 2 sc in next sc\*, rep 6 times. (30 sts) R6: \*Sc 4, 2 sc in next sc\*, rep 6 times. (36 sts) R7: \*Sc 5, 2 sc in next sc\*, rep 6 times. (42 sts) R8-R18: Sc 42. R19: \*Sc 5, dec 1\*, rep 6 times. (36 sts) R20: \*Sc 4, dec 1\*, rep 6 times. (30 sts) Remove hook, but do not fasten off. work on face: For the dog, owl and frog it's time to make the eye roundies and sew them to the head (see forward on the pattern). Position and attach eyes. Embroider mouth and nose. For the owl peak cut a rectangular piece with rounded ends from orange felt, fold it in half and sew it to owl's face. Continue crocheting, R21: \*Sc 3, dec 1\*, rep 6 times. (24 sts) R22: \*Sc 2, dec 1\*, rep 6 times. (18 sts) Stuff body, and continue crocheting, R23: \*Sc 1, dec 1\*, rep 6 times. (12 sts) R24: dec 6 times. (6 sts) Fasten off, pulling knot to center.
DOG EYE SPOT
Using E hook and dark brown yarn, R1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook. R2: Sc 2 in each sc around. (12 sts) Fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing. Insert the plastic eye into the center of the eye spot, position and attach eye to headwith the safety backing. Sew eye spot to head. Position and attach second eye to head.
OWL EYE ROUNDIES
Make 2
Using E hook and white yarn, R1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook. R2: Sc 2 in each sc around. (12 sts) R3: \*Sc 1, 2 sc in next sc\*, rep 6 times. (18 sts) Fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing. Insert the plastic eyes into the center of the roundies, position and attach eyes to head with the safety backings. Sew roundies to head.
FROG EYE ROUNDIES
Make 2
Using E hook and green yarn, R1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook. R2: Sc 2 in each sc around. (12 sts)
R3-R5: Sc 12.
Fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing. Position and attach eyes to roundies with the safety backings. Stuff and sew roundies to head.
Make 2
Using E hook and dark brown yarn, R1: Ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook. R2: Sc 2 in each sc around. (10 sts)
R3-R8: Sc 10.
Fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing. Sew open end together and sew to head. If you want flat ears secure them to the head with a little stitch.
MOUSE EARS
Make 2
Using E hook and grey yarn, R1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook. R2: Sc 2 in each sc around. (12 sts) R3: \*Sc 1, 2 sc in next sc\*, rep 6 times. (18 sts) R4-R6: Sc 18. Fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing. Sew open end together, fold in half, and sew to head.
RABBIT EARS
Make 2 Using E hook and pink yarn, R1: Ch 15, hdc 12 starting in second ch from hook, 2 hdc in last ch st, 12 hdc on opposite side of ch. (26 sts) Fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing. Sew to head.
CAT EARS
Make 2 Using E hook and orange yarn, R1: Ch 2, 5 sc in second ch from hook. R2: Sc 5. R3: Sc 2 in each sc around. (10 sts) R4: Sc 10. Fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing. Sew open end together and sew to head.
OWL EARS
Make 2
Cut two strands of 5 inches long pieces of yarn in lilac and white color (4 strands total). Loop through 1 sc on top of the head, knot and trim to approximately 0,5 inches.
Make 2
Using E hook and red yarn, R1: Ch 2, 7 sc in second ch from hook, ch 1, turn. R2: Dc 1, 2 dc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, ch 1, dc 1, ch 1, 2 sc in next sc, 2 dc in next sc, dc 1, sl st into the center hole. (14sts) Fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing, and set aside. Crab arms, make 2 Using E hook and red yarn, R1: Ch 12, starting at second ch from hook sc 11. Fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing. Sew crab claws and arms to body.
SCARE
Using E hook and desired scarf color yarn, R1: Ch 60, starting in third chain from hook, hdc 58. (58 sts) Change to white yarn, R2: Ch 1,turn, sc 58. (58 sts) Change to the same color of R1, R3: Ch 2 (this counts as the first hdc ofthe row so do not work your first stich of the row), turn, hdc 57. Fasten off and weave in ends. Add fringe. Sew scarf around the body and just below the mouth.
HANDLE
Loop black yarn through top of the head. Tie ends in a knot and hide it into the body. Congratulations! I wish you keep enjoying it. Merry Christmas!!!
