This washcloth was named after the heirloom cotton seed variety that naturally produces a light brown cotton. Successive washings actually darken the color. A cotton name for a cotton Washcloth. The washcloth is started on a corner and ends on a corner. Make one half in one color and the second half in another color. Use team colors for a sports fan. Cast on 4 stitches, leaving a 6 inch tail of yarn to weave in later. BO - Bind Off needle K -Knit K2tog - knit next 2 stitches together LHN - left hand needle M1L -Make 1 Left M1R - Make 1 Right P - Purl pm- place marker PW - purlwise rm- remove marker RHN - right hand Rpt - Repeat RS - Right Side sl 1 - slip 1 sm - slip marker ssk - slip, slip, knit St(s) - stitch(es) yo - yarn over WS - Wrong side R1: K R2: K Increase pattern stitch: (RS) R1: K2, yo, K to end. (WS) R2: K2, yo, P to last 2 sts, K2 Rpt these row until you have 37 stitches or the side length (from point tip to needle) is about 8 inches, or desired length, ending with a WS row (R2 of pattern). Decrease pattern stitch: (RS) R1: K2tog twice, yo, K to end. (WS) R2: K2tog twice, yo, P to last 2 sts, K2 Rpt these rows until you have 6 stitches left, ending with WS row. Turn.
