Sanquhar "Rose' Vase eCozy

The traditional patterns from Sanquhar Scotland can be found at http://futuremuseum.co.uk/ This pattern is called "Rose". The Cozy is worked in the round and in the double knitting technique, which is not explained in detail here. I recommend lace weight yarn and 1.5mm needles. The cozy fits to a vase made of glass with a diameter of 4 cm and a height of 20 cm. Cast on 44 stitch pairs, work in the round, follow the Chart A and repeat the pattern two times per round. Repeat the Chart A until 7 roses are on top of each other (=84 rows). For the cuff, follow the Chart B with 21 rows (k2 black, p2 white..). Pay attention at row 2: the total number of stitches must be decreased to 40 stitch pairs (k9, k2tog...in double knitting technique) . Cast off, weave in the ends and block the cozy. Happy Knitting!
