Mi3 phage

Materials:
·3mm hook ·4mm hook ·2 plastic mobile eyes 11 mm ·100% acrylic yarn 1.7 oz = 142 yd (50g = 130 m) balls, knitting needle 3.5-4, see colors below ·1/2 ball brown yarn ·small quantity of yellowyarn ·small quantity of blackyarn small quantityof lightbrownyarn pink yarn to sew a smile ·1 black chenille stem polyester fiberfill lightweight plastic (l used the plastic from the lid of plastic food container), or lightweight cardboard ·stitch marker tapestry needle glue
STITCH EXPLANATION/ABBREVIATIONS:
ch =chain ·sl st = slip stitch ·sc = single crochet ·hdc= half double crochet ·dc = double crochet sc2tog = sc decrease (lnsert hook into the front loop of next two stiches, yarn over, draw through the 2 front loops, finish with sc) [] () = work directions in brackets the number of times specified bk Ip: back loop ·ft Ip: front loop ·rnd(s) =round(s) ·rw(s) = row(s) ·st(s) = stitch (es) mr = magic ring Notes: Work in continuous rnds; do not join or turn unless otherwise instructed.Use a stitchmarker or colored yarn between the last st of one rnd and first st of next rnd. Flip the end of the yarn to the front on one rnd then to the back of next rnd. Continue for each rnd. Leave yarn tail for sewing pieces together at the end. Before sewing all pieces of doll on body, 1 suggest you to pin all part together to be sure they are in correct position.
TOP/BASE OF BODY (make two):
With 4mm hook and brown yarn, start a magic ring with 8sc Rnd 1: 2 sc each st around (16 sts) Rnd 2: (sc first st, 2 sc next st) repeat 8 times (24 sts) Rnd 3: (sc first 2 sts, 2 sc next st) repeat 8 times (32 sts) Rnd 4: in bklp only, sc each st around (32 sts) Rnds 5-8: sc each st around (32 sts) cut two pieces of plastic of same size of base, insert one into base of body Rnd 9: in bklp only, (sc first 2 sts, sc2tog) repeat 8 times (24 sts) Rnd 10: (sc first st, sc2tog) repeat 8 times (16 sts) stuff, insert second piece of plastic into top base of body Rnd 11: sc2tog around (8 sts) End with sl st and fasten off. Wave in and out of sts of last rnd to close opening.
BODY:
With 4mm hook and brown yarn, ch 21, starting in secondchfromhook Rnd 1: sc each ch, 3 sc in last ch, continue on opposite side of chs, sc each ch, 2 sc in last ch (42 sts) Rnds 2-15: sc each st around (42 sts) cut a piece of soft plastic of same size of body and insert into two layers Rw 16: (sl st through both layers to close opening
DNA:
Make a rectangle with chenille stem of same size of inside of phage, with 4 m hook, sc along chenille stem with black yarn, with desired color make 4 sc for g3p protein and 4 sc for displayed DNA on chenille stem, be sure to put them in correct reading position (in picture I sew them in the wrong way ).
G3P PROTEIN (make five):
With 3mm hook and light brown yarn (or desired color) make a mr with 6 sc Rnd 1: 2 sc each st around (12 sts) Rnd 2: in bklp only, sc each st around (12 sts) Rnds 3-9: sc in each st around (12 sts) Rnd 10: in bk Ip only, sc2tog around (6 sts) end with sl st, wave in and out to close opening.
DISPLAYED PROTEIN (make three):
With 3mm hook and yellow yarn (or desired color) makea mr with5 sc Rnd 1: 2 sc each st around (10 sts) Rnds 2-5: sc in each st around (10 sts) Rnd 6: sc2tog around (5 sts) end with sl st, wave in and out to close opening.
FINISHING:
Sew base and top on body shaping body in half a circle. Sew DNA (chenille stem) inside phage body (be sure to sew it in correct position e.i. the opposite as sown in my picture). Sew g3p proteins on top of phage, sew displayed protein on g3p protein. Glue eyes in correct position and sewa smile on"face". Enjoy!!
