Iuu Have a mtue uit ui uicauve cuiuui icie...!l yuu wat tu Nt a wider purse/tote here, add more knit rows at the bottom. If you want to make a more narrow tall purse bag, knit a minimum of stitches at the bottom and add knit rounds to the height of your bag! \*\*For all 4 bags. they were knit using this cast on AND number of rows\*\* Heather's Hot Tip: The first time you knit a bag like this, keep really good notes....Then you will be able to refer to them as you knit these bags in the future! The possibilities for shapes in this style of knitting are endless! Just remember you will need more yarn! 2. Now you have created a long, narrow rectangle. You should be able to count approximately 20 ridges. You will now pick up stitches along the other three sides and then you will knit the remainder of the tote in the round: You will pick up around 40 stitches along the two long sides and another 10 stitches on the short side, giving you a total of around 100 stitches! 3. For the STOP LIGHT striped OR the YELLOW/green/PURPLE striped purse bag, you will knit as follows: : Knit 5 stitches. PLACE A MARKER. Knit 50 stitches. PLACE A MARKER. Knit to the marker (an additional 50 stitches and you have now completed one round). The markers will tell you where to increase/decrease! Knit another round. \*\*\* Finishing the purse using the SEGUE Trendsetter ribbon\* \*\*\*\*
On the tall pink/green/yellow striped purse I simply took a 48" strand of yarn and a very SHARP sewing needle and hand sewed the ribbon into the purse. I really just eye balled it! I weaved it in and out of the purse along where I changed colors from green to yellow. To create the little pieces of ribbon sticking out, I simply just DID NOT pull the ribbon right when I pulled it through the purse! It is that easy. On the purple/green/yellow striped purse I took strands of ribbon that were about 5-7 inches long and literally just tied them in knots and let them hang down! Thread the needle, pullit through, tie the knot!
