With US 7/ 4.5mm circular needle , CO 3 sts. K6rows. At the end of the last row do not turn your work. Instead, rotate it 90 degrees and pick up and knit 3 sts from the edge. Then rotate your work again by 90 degrees and pick up and knit 3 sts from the cast on edge - 9 sts (Garter Tab Cast On, see Techniques). Row 1 (Rs): k3, yo, k1, yo, pm, k1, yo, k1, yo, k3 - 13sts. Row 2 (ws): k3, p to last 3 sts, k3. Row 3 (rs): k3, yo, k to m, yo, sm, k1, yo, k to last 3 sts, yo, k3 - 17 sts. Row 4 (ws): as Row 2. Rows5-24:work Rows3 and 4-53 sts. Row 25 (Rs): k3, yo, k1, [yo, k2tog] to m, yo, sm, k1, yo, [k2tog, yo] to last 4 sts, k1, yo, k3 -57 sts. Row 26 (ws): as Row 2. Rows 27-35:Work Rows 3 and 4-73 sts. Row 36 (RS): as Row 25 - 77 sts. Row 37 (ws): as Row 2. Tortuga is a basic triangular shaped shawlette with increases at both ends and along the centrespine.

Work Rows 5 to 37 twice more - 205 sts or work to desired length. The shawl can be easily adaptable to any yarn weight and size.

Next Row (RS): k3, (yo, k1) to last 3 sts, yo, k3. K 3 rows removing marker. Bind off very loosely. Fuisled weaweweu 55 inches/140 cm wingspan 22 inches/ 56 cm central spine (after blocking).

2 skeins of Noro Silk Garden Lite [136 yds/124m per 50 gr] shown in Shade2011. or approx. 250-300 yards/ 230-280 meters of DK weight yarn. 24" / 60cm or longer US7/ 4.5mm circular needle or different size to obtain gauge. 1 stitch marker. O yarn needle.
Gouge laften blodkiugs:
22 sts = 4 inches/10 cm in stst. Smaller/larger sizes can be achieved with tighter/looser gauge.
