Bamboo Bag Knitting Pattern for Beginners and Intermediate Knitters by SAS Knits It Again

Bamboo

Design: SAS Knits It Again level: beginner/intermediate

Pattern illustration

This pattern is named after Bamboo because they are both extremely fast growing. The bag grows under your hands like bamboo in the jungle. In Dutch we call the drop stitch; Lazy Gal's stitch' you can figure out why. Also the structure of the pattern reminds me of bamboo stems, longer linges interupted by horizontal breaks. This bag is designed with summer in mind, it's perfect for a day at the beach, a trip to the market or park or just to take shopping. Make and finish it on the way to your holiday destination and start using it right away, you can finish it in a couple of hours. Use all kinds of materials, skeins you have lying around or use this project to try out that great hemp or a funky ball of coton. Use up your acrylic. Line it so you can use it for anything. including carrying around smallitems. Just have fun with this quick knit! Knit On!

About the designer

I design (mostly) with beginning to intermediate knitters in mind. I like to think I'm selling 'Knitting 2.0', an ancient technique translated to the 21th century: easy and relatively quick projects with a modern view on knitwear. while I'm in no way denying the art of slow (mindfull much?), I aim to get a new (younger) group in the claws of knitting by showing them that simple and handmade can be cool. When I teach knitting classes I point out interesting (new) yarn varieties and colors & designs that match a broad range of current fashion views. All this translated to the victim'spersonaltastes. Like whitney put it: I believe the children are our future Teach them well and let them lead the way (LOL) KNIT ON! SAS K.I.A. Www.sasknitsitagain.blogspot.com sasknitsitagain@hotmail.com
