Crochet Slippers for Sylvanian Family Baby

This pattern is for making a small crochet slipper that is intended to fit a Sylvanian Family or Calico Critter baby figure. The resulting shoes appear to fit the modern pose-able baby figures, and are slightly large on the older standing baby figures. The fit with regards to the modern sleeping/crawling baby figures is unknown.

INSTRUCTIONS
As illustrated in the chart and by the completed shoe, this slipper is constructed in three parts: a sole, the sides, and an upper toe. Step 1: The Sole The sole is formed by crocheting an oval. This is accomplished by frst making a chain, then crocheting along first one side, then the other side, of this chain. The initial chain is depicted in blue in the diagram, and the first round is depicted in light orange. The second and third rounds are depicted in successively darker shades of orange.

After Round 3 - Sole complete Step 2: The Slipper Sides The slipper sides are formed by a very short tube, attached to the sole. This part of the slipper is depicted in purple in the diagram, and a yellow thread was used when making the slippers in the photographs below. Begin by crocheting in the back loops, all the way around. Finish each round by slip stitching to the start of the round, then begin the next round by making one chain Stitch.

Step 3: The Upper Toe The upper toe cover is made by two rows crocheted across one end of the oval. The toe cover is depicted in green in the diagram, and a light blue thread was used when making the slipper shown in the photograph below. Begin on one side of the oval and crochet along the front toe. After reaching the other side of the oval, turn and single crochet back to the first side of the oval. After Row 8
