When the West Coast of Canada enters Scorpio, it gets cold fast. The damp chill air of the island makes one glad to have a fire stove, tea and warm cozy leg warmers on hand to add extra warmth and layers. Scorpio leg warmers were inspired by a desire to have a thick, and soft leg warmer that I could wear in the darker months of the year both around the house and while wandering the Winter ocean shore. It's a sister design to my “Earth Mama Leg Warmers" pattern, offering a bit more weight. The body ribbing helps the leg warmer hug your leg while the larger gauge ribbing at the bottom allows it to drape over your boot easily. It's a very quick knit, making it ideal for gift knitting. Sizes S (M, L) [Medium size featured in photos] To Fit 30 - 35 cm (35-40 cm, 40- 45cm) calf circumference 12 - 14" (14 - 16", 16 - 18") circumference All sizes are approximately 39.5 cm / 15.5" in total length after blocking. Note on sizing and length: These leg warmers are a generous size, and can be worn over other layers of clothing (like long socks, rights or slim fitting pants). If you are unsure on sizing, consider that they fit on the larger size and how you are most likely to want to wear them (next to your skin or over layers of other clothing). If you're interested in customizing the length to make them shorter or longer, note that each repetition of the cable pattern increases the overall length by about 3 cm (1.25 inches). To add length, add in more repetitions of the cable pattern. To shorten it, decrease the number of repetitions.
