If you are new to knitting this is a perfect project for you. It's easy and gives a very pretty result. If you are an experienced knitter this is your fun way to get rid of scrap yarn. You see the scarf here in two different colour combinations, and you can easily make your own! The scarf is knitted length wise, and though the rows are long you will have a very gratifying feeling when you realise you suddenly are done! When changing the colour just cut off the working yarn and leave about $10\;\mathrm{cm}/\,4^{\circ}$ long. No weaving in of loose ends needed for this scarf!

KNIT THE SCARF: Cast on 300 sts. Knit four rows in dark blue and continue according to the colour chart. After the last row of dark blue cast off loosely.

FINISHING THE SCARF AND ATTACHING THE FRINGES; At the end where you changed colours just tie together same colour threads. At the other and ( where you only have one loose tread after binding off) make fringes and hook them in same colour as in the knitting. $\mathrm{~\dot{~}u t~}20\;\mathrm{cm}/8^{\circ}$ long strands of yarn. Put two together and fold double. Insert a crochet hook trough two ot three strands at the edge of the work. Pull a loop of the loose strands trough the scarf and pullthe ends trough the loop. Pull to a tight knot. Continue until you have all fringes at the end of each colour block. At the end where you have lose endsfrom changing yarn, fillin with fringes to get as full a look as on the other end of the scarf. Trim the fringes to your desired length.
