A la Ouest Scarf Pattern: Hand Dyed Yarns, Short Row Technique, and Stained Glass Effect Knitting Design by Esther Budd

a la Ouest - a Scarf

Pattern illustration

Pattern illustration

A la Ouest is an irregularly shaped rectangular scarf worked lengthwise with widening ends. The clever use of a simple short-row technique creates the wider ends of the scarf that take full advantage of hand dyed yarns withlong colour repeats. Knit against contrast garter stitch background rows, the colours from these hand-dyed yarns ‘pop' in stocking stitch, creating a stained glass effect.
