approx 30 yards/28 meters of worsted weight yarn in your choice of color(s) (cotton or cotton blends work best; I used Lily Sugar 'n Cream) K-10 1/2/6.5mm hook, or any size needed to obtain gauge Symbole and Abbreviatious: ch(s): chain(s) sC: single crochet sl st: slip stitch st(s): stitch(es) Funished dimensione:

Approx. 2 %" (7 cm) high, with a 10" (25.4 cm) diameter at the top and a 6 1%2" (16.5 cm) diameter at the bottom. Gauge'is not critical for this project, as long as the cozy fits your cup. Because the cozy will stretch a bit, it's better for it to come out a little too small than a little too big. For best results, measure against a cardboard coffee sleeve or a take-out coffee cup as you work.

Hatterw wotee :
If you're having trouble joining the starting chain without twisting, try this: Instead of joining the initial chain, ch 1, turn, and stitch the first row of sc across, then join in the first sc and begin working in the round. Once you're finished, you can use the yarn tail to stitch up the tiny gap and no one will be the wiser. This trick also works well for cowls and anything else worked in the round with a long starting chain. You can easily change up the look of this

basic pattern by experimenting with different yarns and color combinations. Try variegated and self-striping yarns, or alternating rows of solids. You can also sew on a crocheted flower, heart, shamrock, or other applique. The cozy on the left was made with variegated yarn; the cozy on the right was done with three different solids.
