Doll Sweater (Fits Baby Cabbage Patch Kid size doll) Pattern by: Kimberly Poole CrochetedbyKimberly.weebly.com June 2011

This pattern was to fit my daughters baby cabbage patch doll which is a bit smaller then the regular size. Larger sizes can be made by adjusting your starting chain or using a larger hook. \*\*Itested this pattern fora regular sized cabbage patchkid using a 5.5mm hook and some LionBrand Homespun yarn and it fits perfectly\*\*\*
Materials:
Worsted wool (l prefer red heart super savers) Size 4.5mm hook for baby doll or a 5.5mmfor a regular sized doll any"add-on"decorations you like(l prefer to make flowers)
Terms Used:
SC- Single crochet sk- Skip ch- Chain dc-Double crochet blo- Back loop only f/o-Finish object
Sweater:
chain 21 (you can see if you need a larger chain by comparing the chain to the waist of the doll, just chain from one "hip" totheother) row 1- sc in 2nd st from hook and sc in each remaining st (20sc) turn row 2- ch 2 (counts as first dc here and throughout) dc in blo in next st and in each remaining st. (20dc) turn rows 3 and 4-repeat row 2 row 5- repeat row 2 until last st. once last dc is completed chain 9 and leave for a moment. With another ball of yarn chain 7 and slst into first st on other end. I know this part can be a bit confusing but you want to have 2 "chains" hanging off the garment. one on each side. This is where you will work your sleeves row 6- pick up your yarn on the end we left at row 5. dc in the 3rd ch from hook (counts as your first dc) continue patter of dc blo right to the end of the chain on the other side. This should leave you with a total of 34 dc. 7dc for each sleeve andyourinitial20dcformiddle(body) rows 7-11- repeat pattern of dc blo in each st(34dc) 1 2, dc blo in next 8 st's, chain 16, sk these 16 sts and sl st into the 17th st in row. dc in last 9 st's 'ows 13-17- pattern across using the chained 16 as the row. the gap you leave is for the neckline f/o and weave in ends skip first 7 st. attach yarn and dc blo in next 20 st. leave remaining 7 st unworked. complete 4 rows of the pattern for the body sc the 20 st's forlast row and f/o Weaveinalllooseends fold in half with wrong side out and sl st up the side seam and down the sleeve leaving the end open for hands to go thru :) repeat on other side and turn right side out. Now decorate, dress dolly and enjoy :) \~This pattern also looks great with regular dc worked through both loops as well as the BLO method. Its a very versatile pattern once you get the hang of it and so easily decorated with flowers, and other cute details\~ \*disiudwtwhsd workCrochetedbyKimberly.weebly.com:)Thankyou!\*\*\*
