·Worsted Weight yarn: Tan, Brown, and Black - One ball of each. Cream, Burgundy, Red and Green - Small amounts. · Crochet Hook size G/6 and E/4 · Polyester fiberfill · Orange material, permanent black marker, thread and sewing needle · Stitch Marker, Scissors, Tapestry needle
Abbreviations:
Ch = chain Inc = increase, sc 2 in next st Slst = slip stitch Dec = decrease, sc 2 sts together Sc = single crochet BLO = Back Loop Only Dc = double crochet Rnd = Round Notes: The satyr is crocheted in continuous rounds, so use a stitch marker - I use a bobby pin. The G/6 hook is used throughout, the smaller hook is only for the hair.
THE LEGS (Make 2)
With black yarn, ch 2. Rnd 1: Sc 6 in second ch from hook. (6 sts) Rnd 2: Inc in each st around. (12 sts) Rnd 3: Sc BLO in each st around. (12 sts) Rnd 4: Dec 4 times, sc 4. (8 sts) Rnd 5-7: Switch to brown yarn. Sc in each st around. (8 sts) Rnd 8: \*Sc 1, inc\* around. (12 sts) Rnd 9: \*Sc 2, inc\* around. (16 sts) Rnd 10-15: Sc in each st around. (16 sts) Rnd 16: \*Sc 2, dec\* around. (12 sts) Fasten off first leg. After the second leg reaches the 16"h row, continue to row 17. Rnd 17: Sc 3, sc the next 9 sts after the fasten off on the other leg. Skip 3 sts on the next leg, sc 6. Make sure that the gap between the legs (where 3 sts were skipped) is sewn up. (18 sts) Rnd 18-19: Sc in each st around. (18 sts) Fasten off brown yarn.
THE TAIL
I advise making the tail now, as it will be easier to sew on before beginning the torso. Ch 2 with brown yarn. Sc 6 in second ch from hook. Sc around for 3 more rounds, fasten off. Sew to round 18 of the legs. Stuff the legs.

Rnd 20: Switch to tan yarn. \*Sc 2, inc\* around. (24 sts) Rnd 21-26: Sc in each st around. (24 sts) Rnd 27: \*Sc 2, dec\* around. (18 sts) Stuff body. Rnd 28: \*Sc 1, dec\* around. (12 sts) Rnd 29: \*Sc 1, dec\* around. (8 sts) Rnd 30: Sc in each st around. (8 sts)

THE ARMS (Make 2)
Ch 2 with tan yarn. Sc 6 in second ch from hook. Rnd 2-4: Sc in each st around. (6 sts) Fasten off and sew to body.
THE EARS (Make 2)
Ch 2 with tan yarn, then do all of the following sts in the second ch from the hook: [sc, dc, ch 2, slst in second ch, dc, sc.] Fasten off and sew to head.
THE HAIR
Using brown yarn and the size E hook, slst to a sc in round 35 on the side of the head. Work in rows all over the head as follows: \*Ch 3, slst through next st, repeat from\*. See pictures below.

THE HORNS (Make 2)
With cream yarn, ch 3. Dc in the third ch from the hook, ch 2, and slst in the initial ch. Fasten off and sew to head.
THE SCARF
With burgundy yarn, ch 5. Row 1: Dc in third ch from hook, dc in next 2 chs. Row 2-20: Ch 2, turn. Dc 3. Fasten off and weave in ends. You may wish to tack the scarf to Mr. Tumnus with a few sts.

THE T-SHIRT
Using orange material, (mine was cut from an old t-shirt), cut out two shapes similar to the measurements in the following picture:

Sew the seams as shown. Turn the shirt inside out and write ^C H-B' on it with a permanent marker. MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE SHIRT ON BEFORE THE HAT. Well, I hope you enjoyed this crochet experience!
