I prefer 4-ply cotton yarn (Catania from Schachenmayr), but every other yarn with hook in matching size can be used as well. By using a different yarn, the size of the finished doll may be different.

Materials:

3.00 mm hook 4-ply cotton (Catania from Schachenmayr) gold (249) for hands, feet and muzzle dark brown (157) for body and head red (115) for bow piece of black for embroidering mouth and nose 2 anitimes eyes (9 mm) Polyester fiberfill Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:

ch = chain tch = turning chain sc = single crochet st = stitch sl = slip stitch R = round tog = together hdc = half double crochet rep = repeat The bear is to be worked in continuous round. Do not turn or join unless otherwise stated. Mark first stitch of each round. Changing colour: Pull thread in new colour through last two loops of last stitch in old colour.

Foot and Leg (make 2)

Ch 7 in gold R1 sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 4 ch, 3 sc in next ch, working in backward loops from beginning chain from here on: sc in next 4 ch, 2 sc in last ch = 14 R2 (2 sc in first st, sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in next st) 2 times = 18 R3 (2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts) rep = 24

change to dark brown in last st of R 3.
