NEAPOLITAN COWL 2.0

A different take on the original Neapolitan Cowl! Just like the original, this version uses the elongated zig-zag pattern. But, since it only uses one color, it's fully reversible. Wrap it around your neck a couple of times or wear draped like a scarf. This pattern uses only knit and purl stitches, making it a great for beginners.

GAUGE AND SIZING

21sts x 26 rows = 4" in stockinette 12 1/2" tall and 48" in circumference

MATERIALS

\* 451yds/412m of a DK or light worsted yarn (Pattern sample used 5 skeins of Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Worsted in "Shire Heather.") \*9Us/5.5mm (or size needed to obtain gauge) 24" or 32" circular needle \*stitch markers (optional) \*Tapestry Needle, for weaving in ends

DIRECTIONS

With color one, cast on 252 sts via long tail cast on Join for working in the round, being careful to not twist your stitches. Work 2x2 rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 1". Follow chart below for approx 10 1/2" (or 11 1/2" from cast on edge.) Place markers every 18 sts to better keep track of chart repeats if desired. Work 2x2 rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 1". Bind off loosely knitwise. Wet block to dimensions if desired. (Leaving it as is will keep the plumper texture that almost mimics cables.)

CHART DIRECTIONS

Each round: Work row of the chart; repeat until end of the round.
