Directions:
Note: Do not join at the end of each round, unless stated. This stuffy is worked in a continuous round to avoid a "seam" look. (36sts) 6. \*sc 5, 2 sc in next sc\*, repeat to end of round. (42sts) 7-8. Sc in each stitch to end of round. 9. \*sc 5, sc2tog\*, repeat to end of round. (36sts) 10. \*sc 4, sc2tog\*, repeat to end of round. (30sts) 11. \*sc 3, sc2tog\*, repeat to end of round. (24sts) 12. \*sc 2, sc2tog\*, repeat to end of round. (18sts) 13. \*sc, sc2tog\*, repeat to end of round. (12sts) Finish off, leaving a long tail Firmly stuff the little guy. With a yarn needle, sew the opening closed. Nose: With H hook and pink, ch 6 (or magic loop), join and pull closed. 2hdc in each stitch around (12sts). Finish off, leaving a long tail for attaching. Shape into a triangle shape (cat nose shape) while stitching into place. Refer to photo above for placement. Tail: with I hook and pink yarn plus ambrosia homespun plus fur, ch 6 (or magic loop), join and pull closed. 2sc in each stitch around (12sts). sc 1 round with all three yarns, then cut the fur and sc each stitch for 1 more round. Change to orchid (lavender yarn) plus lavender homespun and sc each stitch for 2 rounds. Change to pink plus ambrosia homespun and sc each stitch for 2 rounds. Repeat stripe pattern until tail is desired length. Sample has 9 stripes, just like his daddy. Cut all yarns EXCEPT ww pink. Leave it long enough to stitch tail to back center of the little guy. Stuff the tail if desired. For sample, I flattened the tail opening and used a yarr needle to sew it to the bottom edge of the stuffie. Ears (make 2): With H hook and dark purple. Ch 8, sc in 2nd chain and across. Ch 1, turn, sc across. \*ch 1, turn, sk 1, sc across, sc2tog, ch 1, turn, sc across\*, repeat until no stitches are left. Finish off, leaving a long tail for EACH ear to use for sewing into place. Pink center (make 2): With H hook and pink, Ch 6 (or magic loop), join and pull closed. Finish off, leaving a tail for attaching to the ear. Place a pink ear on top of a purple ear. Using a yarn needle and pink yarn tail, sew to the purple. Repeat for second ear.

Try to make the stitches small so they won't be noticeable from the back...but as crazy as his hair can be, no one will probably notice anyway. Pin ears in place if necessary and sew in place. Eyes (make 2): With H hook and yellow, Ch 6 (or magic loop), join and pull closed. 2sc in each stitch around (12sts). Finish off, leaving a long tail for attaching. With a needle and black thread, sew button to eye. Refer to picture and sew both eyes to the stuffie, using a yarn needle and yarn tail. Grin: With I hook and lavender, ch 14, hdc in second ch from hook, sc in each ch across, 3hdc in last ch. Working across back loops of original chain, sc in each across, with 2hdc in last st. Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing the grin in place. With a yarn needle and white yarn, stitch the smile in place. Welcome your own litle baby cheshy into the world.
Snappy Tips
Abbreviations: chain (ch), single crochet (sc), half double crochet (hdc), double crochet (dc), slip stitch (sl st), decrease - single crochet two together (sc2tog), increase - work in the same stitch (2sc) When working in the round, I start with a magic loop of x amount of sts. Others prefer to start with a ch, join with a slip stitch to create a ring, and work x amount of stitches into the ring. I have created a few videos to help explain how I do some things. There are many wonderful instructional videos available for free on youtube and throughout the web. http://www.youtube.com/user/heidishowto?feature=mhee If you have any questions, comments or suggestions please email me at heidi@snappy-tots.com This pattern has been tested.
