Supplies:

Size 6 US $\left(4\:\mathrm{mm}\right)$ , 16 inch circular knitting needles 5, Size 6 US $(4\mathrm{mm})$ , Double Sided Needles Cable Needle Size E (3.5 MM) crochet hook Using Size G (4.25 MM) Hook (for flower) 100 grams worsted weight yarn Gauge: 10 stitches and $14\,\mathrm{rows}=2$ inches in stockinette stitch Abbreviations: K-Knit P-Purl K2 tog-Knit 2 stitches together Sts-stitches st-stitch sc-single crochet sc 2 tog-single crochet 2 stitches together sl st-slip stitch ch-chain Yo-yarn over fpdtc-front post double treble crochet

Notes:

· In this pattern, the ch at the beginning of the round DOES NOT count as the first stitch. The Knit portion of the hat is knit in the round. You may find knitting and crochet instructions on the internet. I only provide the stitch abbreviations for you, plus a special stitch instruction for the fpdtc.

Special Stitch Instructions:

FPDTC-to do the front post double treble crochet, yo 4 times, insert hook from front to back around post st indicated, yo and pull up a loop, and complete double treble crochet. Detailed pictures are provided when this stitch is introduced into the pattern.

Knit Pattern: Hat Body:

Cast on 64 (72, 80, 88, 96, 104) sts. Place a marker, then join, being careful not to twist. Knit in the stockinette stitch (knit every round) until it measures, 3 $(3,3\,^{1\!}/_{2}$ $3\,{}^{1}\!/\!/\!,\,4,\,4\rangle$ inches. Begin Decreasing Rounds

Decreasing Rounds:

Round 1: $^{*}\mathrm{K}6$ , K2 tog., repeat from \* around. Round 2: Knit entire round. Round 3: $^{*}\mathrm{K}5$ , K2 tog., repeat from \* around. Round 4: Knit entire round. Round 5: $\mathrm{*K4}$ , K2 tog., repeat from \* around. Round 6: Knit entire round. Round 7: $^{*}\mathrm{K}3$ , K2 tog., repeat from \* around. Round 8: Knit entire round. Round 9: $\ast\mathrm{K}2$ , K2 tog., repeat from \* around. Round 10: Knit entire round. Round 11: $\ast\mathrm{K}1$ , K2 tog., repeat from \* around. Round 12: Knit entire round. Round 16: $\ast\mathrm{K}2$ tog., repeat from \* around To finish: Cut yarn and pull through the remaining stitches, gather together and bring the tail into the inside of the hat and fasten off. Weave in the ends.

Crochet Edge, Brim, and Flower Instructions:

Edging:

Round 1: Using your crochet hook, with right side of hat facing, pick up and work 1 sc in each knit stitch all around the bottom edge of the hat, join to $1^{\mathrm{st}}$ stitch with a slip stitch. 64 (72, 80, 88, 96, 104) sts Round 2: ch 1, \*Work 1 sc in next 6 sts, sc 2 together, repeat from \* around, join with sl st at end. 56, (64, 72, 80, 88, 96) sts Round 3: ch 1, sc around, join with sl st at end. Round 5: ch1, $^*_{\mathrm{SC}}$ in the next 3 sts, fpdtc in $4^{\mathrm{th}}$ stitch to the left and $4^{\mathrm{th}}$ row down, sc in the next 4 sts, fpdtc in the $4^{\mathrm{th}}$ stitch to the right and $4^{\mathrm{th}}$ row down. Brim Instructions:

Sizes 1-2:

Row 1: Ch1, sc 30 sts, turn Row 2: sl st across, turn Row 3: sc through rows 1 and 2 (through the sc and sl st) turn Row 4: sl st across, turn Row 5: sc through the previous 2 rows (through the sc and sl st) turn Row 6: sl st across, turn Row 7: sc through the previous 2 rows, DO NOT TURN. FINAL EDGING ROUND: Row 10: sc down the left edge of the brim, continue to sc evenly around the entire back edge of the hat, continue to sc up the right side and across the front of the brim end with a slip stitch into the first sc of this round. Fasten off . Try not to crochet the last round too tightly as it will not have enough give around the head.

Sizes 3-4:

Row 1: Ch1, sc 34 sts, turn Row 2: sl st across, turn Row 3: sc through rows 1 and 2 (through the sc and sl st) turn Row 4: sl st across, turn Row 5: sc through the previous 2 rows (through the sc and sl st) turn Row 6: sl st across, turn Row 7: sc through the previous 2 rows, turn Row 8: sl st across, turn Row 9: sc through the previous 2 rows, DO NOT TURN. FINAL EDGING ROUND: Row 10: sc down the left edge of the brim, continue to sc evenly around the entire back edge of the hat, continue to sc up the right side and across the front of the brim end with a slip stitch into the first sc of this round. Flower Instructions:
