Garter stitch (in the round): CC- Contrast colour MC- Main colour K- Knit P- Purl PM- Place marker SM- Slip marker kfb- Knit into the front and back of the stitch Round 1: Knit Round 2: Purl To keep colour pattern, change colours only on knit rounds.

Cuff

Loosely cast on 30 (30, 33) stitches in MC using the i-cord cast-on method. (There is a fantastic tutorial here: http:// whimsicalknittingdesigns.blogspot.com/2006/10/i-cord-cast-on.html). Divide stitches onto 3 needles. Join for working in the round. Work 20 (20, 20) rounds in garter stitch, starting with two rounds of MC, then alternating every 2 rounds between CC and MC. This colour pattern continues through the rest of the mitten.

Palm Increases

Round 1: \*K4, kfb, repeat from \*, K0 (0, 3) . (36 (36, 39) sts) Round 2: Purl Medium and Large only: Round 3: \*K5, kfb, repeat from \*, K0 (0, 3) (36 (42, 45 sts) Round 4: Purl

Gusset Increases

Right Hand: Round 1: K20 (24, 25), PM, kfb, K1, kfb, PM, K13 (15, 17) Round 2: Purl Round 3: K to marker, kfb, K to one stitch before marker, kfb, K to end. Round 4: Purl Repeat rounds 3 and 4 until there are 11 (13, 15) stitches between the markers. (44 (52, 57) sts total) Work 2 (4, 6) rounds in garter stitch. On the next round, K to marker, place 11 (13, 15) stitches on a holder, K to end. (33 (39, 42) sts on needles) Purl next round. Left Hand: Round 1: K13 (15, 17), PM, kfb, K1, kfb, PM, K20 (24, 25) Continue as for right hand.

Hand
