Purrfect activity for those lazy, rainy September evenings... Gauge is irrelevant:) Abbreviations (in US crochet terms): sc - single crochet hdc - half-double crochet sl st - slip stitch ch - chain small picot - ch2, sl st into 1st ch. Cat basis (make 4 - 2 fronts and 2 backs): Rnd1: sc 6 into a Magic Loop, sl st into 1st sc, ch1, turn Rnd2: 2sc in each sc, sl st into 1st sc, ch1, turn (12) Rnd3: \*2sc in 1sc, sc in 2nd sc\* repeat 6 times, sl st into 1st sc (18) For the backside of the cat you should bind off here, leaving long tail for sewing. For frontside continue: nto next 3 sc, ch1,[ sc, hdc, small picot, ch2 slt st] - into next sc, sl st in nex 4sc, ch2, small picot, [hdc, sc] into next sc, sl st in next 3 sc. Bind off Embroider a face on each front. Sew both sides together hiding all the threads inside (optionally you can stuff your cats VERY lightly). While sewing space between ears make sure you sew in the ear wires between the two layers (they should face opposing directions or else the cats will twist in your ears - see the picture) Enjoy your brand new earrings!
