Felted Mason Jar Cozy
To fit a 12oz, standard-mouth Ball Mason canning jar

Materials: Lamb's Pride worsted weight Size 13 dpns 1 stitch marker Gauge: Doesn't really matter, since you will be felting it, but mine was 12 rows for 3 inches and 11 stitches for 4 inches.
Directions:
Use a double strand of yarn throughout CO 32 stitches and join in the round, pm K1, P1 rib for 6 rounds. itches until your piece is approximately 6 inches (this took me an additional 14 rows Work decreases: @Sabrina Herrin Binaknits on Ravelry.com Knit 6, k2tog around (28 stitches) Knit one round Knit 5, k2tog around (24) Knit one round Knit 4, k2tog around (20) Knit one round Knit 3, k3 tog around (16) Knit 2, k2tog around (12) Cut yarn and thread through remaining stitches and pull tight. Weave in ends and felt. Put the cozy on the jar and let it dry there -then it will have just the right shape.
Special notes:
Borrowing from Edith Eig's feather and fan baby blanket, for the cozy in the picture below, I started with 2 strands of the same color and as I progressed, I changed the color of just one strand at a time to give a graduated effect. Here, I did \~5 rows of blue, changed on strand to green for 4 rows, then both to green for 6, one to yellow for 4, then all yellow for the remainder.
