cast On

Cast-on 64(72) stitches loosely (l recommend using a backwards loop cast on) and distribute evenly over knitting needles of your choice. PM for start of round, \*k1, p1\* 32(36) times [64(72) stitches worked].

Pattern

Row 1: \*Sll, kl, YO, PssO both\* repeat to end. Row 2: knit all stitches. Repeat rows 1 & 2.

Work 4 rows of kl, p1 ribbing total. Work in pattern until leg is length required. Ending with a row 1. Knit 32(36) stitches, PM (you're working row 2 of the pattern on the top of the foot). This is now the second marker and will be working the heel back and forth between the second and first marker. Knit 31 (35) stitches, wrap and turn. Purl 30(34) stitches, wrap and turn. Knit 29(33) stitches, wrap and turn. Purl 28(32) stitches, wrap and turn. Continue working one less stich on each row until there are 6(8) stitches left ending on a ws. Knit to one stitch before first wrapped stitch, pick up wrap and knit together with last stitch, wrap and turn. Purl to one stitch before the wrapped stitch, pick up wrap and purl together with last stitch, wrap and turn. Knit to one stitch before next wrapped stitch, pick up both wraps and knit together with last stitch, wrap and turn. Purl to one stitch before next wrapped stitch, pick up both wraps and purl together with last stitch, wrap and turn. Continue these two rows until all stitches are worked and you are back at the starting marker ready to work a Rs row.

Starting at first marker; Starting on row 1, knit in pattern to second marker [32(36) stitches] , knit remaining stitches [32(36) stitches] . Continue working the 2 rows of the pattern on the top of the foot and stockinette on the bottom until you are 1.5" (3.75cm) from the total required length of the foot ending on a pattern row 1.

Toe

Row 1: \*k1, k2tog, knit to 3 stitches before second marker, SsK, kl\* repeat once. Row 2: knit all stitches. Repeat these 2 rows until you have 32(36) stitches remaining. Kitchener toe together. Try on sock and admire your work. Now cast on a second sock so the other foot doesn't get too cold!

k: knit p: purl sll: slip 1 stitch purl-wise with yarn in back YO: yarn over PSSO: pass slipped stich over both knit and yarn over Wrap & turn: slip stitch onto right hand needle, bring yarn between stitches on right and left needle, slip stich back onto left hand needle, continue to bring yarn back through between stitches on right and left needles.
