Crochet Pattern: Elegant Ribbed Chapeau with Detailed Instructions and Material List

Materials:

5.0 mm (H hook) Tapestry needle for weaving in ends Approximately 200g of Worsted Weight Yarn (l used Bernat Satin 2 balls) \*\*it should be noted that if you choose to alternate colours for the band only, you still need 2 balls of the main colour and one ball for your band. The demand for yarn is in the upper half. \*Scissors \*measuring tape

Instructions:

1. Starting with the band, CH 11. SC in each stitch for a total 10 Stitches. CH1 and turn 2. In Back Loop Only, SC in each stitch. CH1 and turn. 3-? Repeat Row 2 until product measures 19" 4. Slip stitch in each BLO and beginning chain to connect the band ends. CH1 and do not turn. We will now be working on the edge of the band. 5. SC in each stitch along the edge of the band evenly. SS into first SC. CH1 \*\*Do not turn\*\* 6. HDC in each stitch around. SS to top of first HDC. CH1 7-9. Repeat row 6 10. BPHD around CH1 and first HDC from previous row. BPHD around each HDC. SS to first BPHD. 11. Repeat Row 10. 12. HDC in each BPHD stitch from previous row. SS to top of first HDC. CH1 13-15. Repeat row 7-9. 16&17. Repeat row 10&11. \*\*Repeat Rows 10-17 three more times. You should have 5 Ribbed/Raised sections and 5 HDC sections. 42. HDC in each BPHD stitch from previous row. SS to top of first HDC. CH1 43&44. HDC in each stitch around. SS to top of first HDC. CH1 45. HDc2tog in each stitch around essentially reducing your stitches by half. SS to the top of first HDC2tog. CH1 46. Repeat row 45 reducing stitches by half again. Fasten off leaving a long tail for cinching. \*\*using your tapestry needle, thread your tail through each stitch. Once finished, pull your tail tight to close the hole. Finish off and weave in your ends. Don your chapeau and you're good to go!
