CH- Chain DC: Double Crochet SK - Skip SL - Slip Stitch This pattern includes two versions: Version 1 is super simple all double crochets Version 2 Is full of helpful hints and crochet techniques to take the blanket up a notch. Version 1: Using the Color Chart as a guide: Round 1: CH 3,join with SL in first CH. Round 2: 12 DC in CH 3 space. Round 3: Join next color with SL in first DC. Cut first color. CH 2 (counts as first DC), DC in same stitch. \*2 DC in next stitch\* repeat to end. Round 4: Join next color with SL in first DC. Cut color from last round. CH 2 (counts as first DC), DC in same stitch \*DC in next 2 stitches, 2 DC in next Dc. Rounds 5 - 29 Increase one DC after each 2DC for each round. For example, Round 5 should be \*DC in next 3 stitches, 2 DC in next DC; Round 6 should be \*DC in next 4 stitches, DC\*. Finish: Weave in ends.
Version 2:
This pattern combines several methods to make crocheting in the round and making multiple color changes seamless and knotless, with no counting and no tucking in hundreds of tails at the end. Using the Color Chart as a guide: Round 1: Use the Magic Ring method to create first circle. Round 2: 12 DC in Magic Ring space. Round 3: Join next color with SL in first DC using the No Tails/No Knots method. CH 1, skip first DC, 2 DC in next stitch, \*2 DC in each stitch\* repeat to end. Round 4: Join next color with SL in first DC using the No Tails/No Knots method. CH 1, skip first DC, 2 DC in next stitch, 1 DC in next DC, 2DC in next Dc\* repeat to end. Round 5 -29: Repeat Row 4 using the No Counting Method.
Methods used in Version 2:
Center Circle: Use the Magic Ring (Adjustable Ring) This method makes it easy to pull the circle tight and eliminate a visible hole. Magic Ring Method: Step 1: Form a loop with your yarn with the on the left Step 2: Insert hook through the loop and use the hook to grab the working end (or ball) of your yarn Step 3: Pull the yarn through the ring using the yarn as your first loop on the hook Step 4: Complete 12 DC's in the loop. Make sure that the DC's go around both the working yarn and tail. Step 5:Pull the tail end until the circle closes completely. Step 6: SL in first DC. Seamless Method: This method will give you the clean, crisp and jogless color changes> Here's how: CH 1, SK 1 DC, \*2 DC in next DC, DC in DC\* repeat until end. DC in the 1st skipped DC (skipping over the CH 1), SL with Color B through back loop of 1st DC. CH 1. Cut color A leaving a long tail, 3 or more inches. No Tails/No Knots Method: You'll be so happy that you used the No Tails/No Knots method when you finish the last row of this blanket. Instead of facing, tons of tails to weave in, you aredone! This method covers up your tails as you go and it also eliminates the thousands of knots that would have to tie. Here's how:Lay the tail of Color A and Color B (or whatever color that you are adding) over the top of the last round of DC's. Work the following stitches over the two tails. Leave longer tails as the blanket gets larger. By the end of this blanket, my tails were about 6 inches long. Longer tails hold better and won't pull out. No Counting Method: Tired of counting? Using this method allows you to ditch the counter and just pay attention to where you put 2 DC's in the last round.DCin each DC until you reach the 2DC stitches. Simply DC in the first stitch then 2 DC in the 2nd. This allows you to spread your increases evenly around the circle without counting. Your blanketwill layperfectlyflat. Here's how: CH 1, SK 1 DC \*2 DC in first DC, DC in each DC until you reach the 2 DC stitch from last round, DC in first stitch, 2 DC in second. Color Guide: Round 1: Color A (Fuschia) Round 2: Color B (Gold) Round 3: Color C (Aqua) Round 4 & 5: Color D (Orange) Round 6: Color E (Citrus Green) Round 7: Color F (Lilac) Round 8 & 9: Color B (Gold) Round 10: Color A (Fuschia) Round 11&12 Color C (Aqua) Round 13: Color D (Orange) Round 14&15: Color F(Lilac) Round 16: Color B (Gold) Round 17&18: Color E (Citrus Green) Round 19: Color A (Fuschia) Round 20: Color B (Gold) Round 21: Color F (Lilac) Round 22& 23: Color D (Orange) Round 24: Color C (Aqua) Round 25: Color E (Citrus Green) Round 26: Color A (Fuschia) Round 27: Color F (Lilac) Round 28: Color E (Citrus Green) Round 29: Color B (Gold)
