Craftymizz Crochet Muff
Materials: 2 x 50g Balls Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Super Chunky Tools: 6mm crochet Hook Tapestry Needle Stitches Used: Slip Stitch Double Crochet (US sc) Treble Crochet (US dc) Finished size: 10" x 8" (55x25cm) Easy design which features a detachable strap and adjustable openings to make this Muff fully customisable for young girls to adults.
Pattern:
142 (should measure 16" (41cm),if not, change hook size until measures correctly Row 1 - dc in 4th chain from hook, \*tr in next ch, dc in next. Repeat from \* to end, ending with dc. Ch 3, turn (40 sts including ch3) dc in first tr, tr top of dc, \*dc in next st, tr in next. Repeat from \* to end. Ch3, turn Rows 3 to 19 - Repeat Row 2. Do not fasten off. (should measure 16x8 inches) des together and sl st across to make a 'tube'. Ch 1. Turn to work along opening ed. Row 1 - Work 40 dc evenly around edge, sl st into first dc. Row 2 - Work 5 tr in 2nd dc from hook. Skip 1 dc and sl st into next dc. Sk 1 dc and work 5 tr into next dc. Skip 1 dc and sl st into next dc. Repeat from \* to end, sl st into first sl st and fasten off. (10 5tr shells). Join yarn to opposite side and repeat edging rows 1 and 2. Weave in ends. Neck Strap: Measure from where muff is to hang, around neck and back down. Cut 6 pieces of yarn to length and plait together, knot at each end (47inch long lengths of yarn are long enough for 8 year old). Pass knot through any hole on each side of muff (this can be quite tight but ensures strap doesn't undo). Knot again if you don't want the strap adjustable. Weave ribbon through stitches under shell edging to decorate and tie with bow. This ribbon can be tightened if desired to close openings for extra warmth.
