Vineyard hat was inspired by the flow and connection of vines.
This hat is knit from the bottom up and in the round. If you would like a slouchier shape, add extra cable repeats.
MATERIALS NEEDED:
Approx. 50 gm heavy worstedweight wool. Sample yarn: Universal Yarns Deluxe Worsted (Ice Flow colorway) Gauge: 16 stitches and 24 rows = 4 in/10cm stockinette stitch 1 pair size Us7/4.5mm circular needle (16" or 24" in.cable). 2 stitch markers
DECREASE ROWS:
CO 80 stitches using long-tail method. Join in the round and place marker for BOR (beginning of round). Knit in 2x2 rib stitch for 1.5 inches. Row 1 (cable row): P1,ktbl into next two stitches, P1, 4/8C, P1，ktbl into next two stitches，P1， knit to end of round. Rows 2-8: P1,ktbl into next two stitches,P1,K12，P1, ktbl into next two stitches, P1, knit to end of round. Row 9 (cable row): P1, ktbl into next two stitches, P1, 8/4C, P1, ktbl into next two stitches, P1, knit to end of round. Rows 10-16: P1, ktbl into next two stitches, P1, K12, P1, ktbl into next two stitches, Pl, knit to end of round. Repeat Rows 1-16 once more. Row 1 （cable row): P1，ktbl into next two stitches,P1, 4/8C,P1，ktbl into next two stitches，P1。 Then \*K4,k2tog\* 10 times (70 stitches). Row 2, 4,6，8(all even rows): P1, ktbl into next two stitches, P1, K12, P1, ktbl into next two stitches, P1, knit to end of round. Row 3: P1, ktbl into next two stitches, P1,K12, P1, ktbl into next two stitches, P1. Then \*K3, k2tog\* 10 times (60 stitches). Row 5: P1, ktbl into next two stitches,P1,K12,P1,ktbl into next two stitches, P1. Then \*K2, k2tog\* 10 times (50 stitches). Row 7: P1, ktbl into next two stitches,P1,K12,P1,ktbl into next two stitches, P1. Then \*K1, k2tog\* 10 times (40 stitches). Row 9 (cable row): P1, K2tog,P1，8/4C,P1,k2tog P1. Then\*k2tog\* 10 times （30 stitches). Row 10 (final row): P2tog, \*k2tog\* to end of round. Cut yarn then weave through remaining stitches on needles and pull tight.
