Given here are instructions for 60 st Alots. If you have increased more or less than that, for a smaller or larger Alot, please r the Rounder Heel Turn instructions for your number of Sts in this chart: http://www.socknitters.com/Tips/heels_by_the_number.htm
Heel (Chin) Turn
Slip 1, k 12, skk, k1, turn slip 1, p 7, p2tog, p1, turn slip 1, k8, ssk, k1, turn slip 1, p9, p2tog, p1, turn slip 1, k10, ssk, k1, turn Continue in this manner until all sts have been worked. For final row, Slip 1 and knit across. Still working on only needle one: (RS): slip 1, knit across (WS) slip 1, purl across Repeat for 10 rows
Head
You will now begin knitting in the round again. Knit across needle one and PU and knit 6 sts along the slipped edge of the Alot's face (just like a sock!) Place these sts on needle 1 Knit across needles 2 and 3 PU and knit six sts along the slipped edge of the Alot's face. Place these sts on needle 1. (NOTE: if your Alot is larger or smaller than the pattern calls for, you may want to pick up more or fewer sts. The basic purpose of this is to make sure the head has no unseemly gaps, and to redistribute the sts in such a way as to have more sts on needle 1 than on either needle 2 OR needle 3 (those should each still have 20, or whatever number you ended on) and to make sure there is a slight upward tilt from needles 2 & 3 to needle 1) It should look a little something like this:

needle one: k1, ssk, k to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1 - needle two: k1, ssk, ssk, k across needle three: k to last 5 sts, k2tog, k2tog, k Rep until 10 sts remain on needle 1 and 5 sts each remain on needles 2 and 3 (20 sts total). If you finish decreasing on needle 1 before needles 2 and 3 or vice versa, simply knit across those sts and continue decreasing on the remaining needles. Stuff the Alot [Knit around for approx 1 inch, or however long you want your Alot's face to be.
Begin Decreases
(NOTE: This is not an exact science. In fact, nothing about this Alot is exact! The three times I've made this pattern I've done this three different ways. Below is one suggestion, but the basic premise is to decrease in a steady manner until you have 10 sts on needle 1 and 5 sts each on needles 2 & 3, or 20 sts total)

Combine needles 2 and 3. 10 sts in front, 10 sts in back. Kitchener St to bind off. Feet CO 16 sts work stockinette 8 rows BO 12 sts, K across rest of row work remaining 4 sts in stockinette for 4 rows BO remaining sts purlwise. Leave long tail for sewing up. You will have something that looks like this:

Fold cast on edge around and, using the tail you left, stitch it to to the BO side to make a small tube. Then fold the remaining flap down across the top of the tube and use BO tail to st around the edge to join into something that resembles a thimble

Repeat four times. Stuff and attach to base of body like so:

Horns
Use contrasting brown yarn or any color you wish CO 6 work I-Cord for 4 rows (cont in I-Cord) k1, ssk, k3 (cont in I-Cord) k1, ssk, k2 (cont in I-cord) kl, ssk, k1 (con in I-Cord) k1, ssk (cont in I-cord) ssk 1 remaining st. Repeat for second horn EXCEPT reverse the decreases like sc k3, k2tog, k1, k2, k2tog, k1 k1, k2tog, kl k2tog, k1 k2tog Attach horns to top of head as in picture Snaggletooth In white yarn CO 2 Work in I-Cord for 4 rows K2tog, cut tail, and pull through st Eyes Use white yarn for base and black yarn for pupils CO 3 sts and divide among 3 needles. kfb around (6 sts) K kfb around (12 sts) K k1, kfb, kfb, k1 around (18 sts) BO Make 2. Attach to face as in picture. Using tapestry needle and black yarn stitch a pupil into center of eacheye. Finishing Using black yarn and your tapestry needle, stitch a frowny face onto your Alot. Attach tooth to mouth as in picutre. Using black, stitch “toenails” onto each foot, as in picture. Weave in ends. Use to teach your friends important grammar lessons.
