PUPILS - Make 2
Using brown yarn, make a slip knot. Chain 3, join with slip stitch to form a circle. Chain 1 and make 4 sc, join with slst to ch 1. Cut yarn, leaving 4" tail. Pull tail through to opposite side of circle. SCLERA - Make 2 Using white yarn, make a slip knot. Chain 3, join with slst to form a circle. Chain 2, 6 dc, join with sl st to ch 2. Cut yarn leaving 4" tail. Pull tail through to opposite side of circle.

EYESTALKS Add pupils to sclera by pulling brown tails through edges of white circles. Bend pipe cleaner as shown. Using brown tails, tie eyeballs onto bent ends where shown by arrows below.

Row 1: With pasta color yarn, dc around white circle in back loop only so white will show, will be 6 or 7 sts. Join with sl st.

Row 2: Ch 2, dc one row around, join with sl st. Row 3: Repeat row 2. Row 4: Ch 2, \*dc, dc 2 tog, repeat from star until end of row, join with sl st. Five stitches remain. Rows 5-18: dc continuously around until you reach the middle of the pipecleaner. Grasping middle of pipe cleaner, slide stitches toward eyeball to make eyeball look rounder. Repeat rows 1-18 on second eyestalk. Join by sc around middle. Cut yarn leaving 12" tail. Shape eyestalks as shown below.
MEATBALLS

[Meatball stuffing: you can use regular polyfill stuffing, but I like to use brown yarn and make a crocheted rectangle to use for stuffing since the stuffing inevitably shows through. To make crocheted stuffing, chain 12, turn, dc to end, turn and dc to end. Knot and cut ends.]

Ch 3, join with sl st. Ch 2, dc 7, join with sl st in ch 2. [Tip for experienced crocheters: I like to carry the tail around with the ch 3 loop so I can cinch the hole shut.] Increase row: ch 2, \*dc 2 in one dc, 1 dc in dc, repeat from star for whole row. Ch 2, dc in all stitches, join with sl st in ch 2. 1st Decrease row: ch 2, \*dc joining 2, one dc, 1 dc, repeat from star for whole row. Stuff with stuffing of your choice. 2nd Decrease row: dc joining 3, dc joining 3, sl st to join, bind off and weave in ends.
NOODLEY APPENDAGES
ain stitch 20 sts. Turn and slip stitch back to beginning. Bind off and weave in ends

Using same technique make eight five inch noodles and two seven inch noodles.
ASSEMBLY
Using long tail from eyestalks, sew on noodles two at a time by threading through the middle and stitching to center seam of eyestalks. Position noodles and stitch down to surround meatballs and so they look cute.
